Great tutorial, this has inspired me to put a hold on learning Perl and start on Delphi.
When I try to run I get an error: [Fatal Error] Could not create output file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Borland\Delphi7\Projects\Project2.exe'

help
wicked tutorial man, this is my 3rd program in delphi and already lovin it
Export to .Bat

var
Form1: TForm1;
myFile : TextFile;
text : string;

procedure TForm1.Button12Click(Sender: TObject);
begin

AssignFile(myFile, edit7.text);
ReWrite(myFile);
Write(myFile, Memo1.text);
CloseFile(myFile);
Uhm, i've done everything u said, compiled and all. But when i try to run it, the cmd box pops up and away again quickly:S

What have i done wrong here?
Works very good, I created a Button with this Code:

Code
procedure TForm1.Button5Click(Sender: TObject);
begin
  saveDialog1.Title := 'Generate .BAT';
  saveDialog1.InitialDir := GetCurrentDir;
  saveDialog1.Filter := 'BAT File|*.bat';
  saveDialog1.DefaultExt := '.bat';
  // Display the open file dialog
  if saveDialog1.Execute
  then Memo1.Lines.SaveToFile(savedialog1.FileName);
end;

Filter: Batch File only | *.bat

Very easy :_)
Nice tut! but delphi looks a little weak to be my first "real" language from which i base my entire knowledge of Computer science, So C++ it is. but nice work! adds a little spunk and great for programmers who know other languages and are looking to branch out into RAD
