Where to Begin With Hacking

Great thread. Lots of useful insight. Thanks!

Quick question though. Which would be more valuable to learn first? C# or Python?
Thank you so much for making this. Should be stickied in this section; so many people making the same threads. This is perfect for those people. :)

thank you so much for this post very helpful information.
Hey man awesome guide! I was wondering though if C++ is an ok place to start for programming? Its the only language class my high school offered so I just took it haha, Its pretty basic stuff so far (just made a 4 function calc). Is this an ok starting point? and where do I go from there?
Very good and very basic. ANd I agree that python is awesome.

this will help alotta noobs.
Thanks! I am just starting out and was going to post a question asking where should I start. Luckily I found your thread and I am on the right track. Thanks again!
You made some mistake in your post. Companies do not hire hackers as they did 15 - 20 years ago. Those people who hack for them are computer programmers. They get these people by searching colleges and universities. They are basically computer security experts not some random person who they know nothing about.

You also didn't state the grey hat work for big companies as the white hats. An example of grey hat hackers are MIT and CalTech students in there hack day. Most of the time their pranks are harmless.

As far as who is the best, it's a no contest. They all have the same knowledge. If a white hat create something the black hats will go after it to break it. If the black hat created something the white hats will try to go after it to fix it. I read a article that had someone from Norton, Zone Alarm, and Mcafee say that black hat the bad guys are at least a couple of steps ahead. Pretty scary to know some of the world's top security experts claim this.
thanks you for the information.it's very educative.
Thank you so much for this information. I t was helpful
I am new the site and this is the FIRST post to catch my eye. Very well done. Thank you for all this information.

Hello,Aye!,Thanks man i found your thread very useful.I have recently become very interested in hacking. From my current research i see this will be a lengthy process depending on my self application ,BUT i also have financial NEEDS that need to be met in the meantime. Is it o.k if i ask you my "blackhat" questions until i'm able to stand on my own two?I know your thread said you still answer questions...

Thank you. Really liked the section about programming languages,
