If you use portableapps on a flash drive, you can get around the .exe block. And while I haven't heard of explorer++, freecommander does the same thing and automatically shows you the C: drive without fail. (Although, if folder's need admin right to access, they are still blocked).

The LAN cord trick is great. I like the linux usb the best though, letting me erase students drives and bust their pr0nz :3
