[Gathering Information] Update by patching - WyBuild

Hey guys, in this thread I am not going to release anything it's just for asking you guys what you think about updating an app by patching it.

I have a big project currently going on and the next step on my list is to create an updater.

I didn't want to create it using the "common" way :

- Check version in an hosted .txt file, then if new version available download it, or just navigate to the download url.

So, I've made some research and found a soft called WyBuild.

http://wyday.com/wybuild/features.php

They are updating the soft by patching it. The patch is , of course, way smaller than the hole exe, so downloading it is faster.

Now, what I want to know, do you have any ideas/concept of doing this using your own code ? I don't mind buying WyBuild, but I always prefer doing things myself.

Thanks alot,
-Pentagon

Patching it is better and more userfriendly, i would go for it if i had a big project. it wont make any sense if you have a project with a size of 5 mb o.0

i prefer to use wyUpdate instead of other methods aswell,
it's fast and easy to use.
Thanks for your feedback, I will go with WyBuild/WyUpdate I guess.

If only Coleak could receive PMs haha...
