hacking a car flip out dvd

my friend has a flip out dvd player. He had the battery unpluged for a few days and now it wants a security code which we have no clue what it is. It is a 4 digit code and it has usb support. I was wondering if i could get any info on how i could possible run the 10,000 combinations on the device through my computer, flash drive, or cd/dvd. Its the first screen that pops up when the unit is turned on and the screen flips out. I know there are brute force cracking programs for cell phones so im wondering if there is a way to implement it here.
What's the brand/model? Also did you try the easy passwords? '0000' '1234'?
tried all the easy numbers, social security number, adress, favorite numbers, birthday, everything lol

its a Kenwood Kvt 512
Ya, then I would definitely google the model/brand and find out what the default codes are or how to reset it if it was changed from the defaults.
would i not be ablr to use something like tsgrinder once i get the headunit to recognise my computer as an input?

if you read here
http://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/4/601404.html
last post says if i send it to kenwood they hook it to a laptop and decode the chip. there has to be someway for me to do this at home or some way to brute force the key.

anyone have any suggestions?
basicly just wondering if there is a brute force programe that will run from 0000,0001...9999 on the headunit to find the code?
found a better way. these radio have eeprom. heres a thread here i found
http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=503264

and for xbox

could i build the eeprom reader from the xbox threadd, hook it up to eeprom in radio, dump the file, then get the code?
does noone on this forum have any clue how to go about getting the code. i would have no problem sending it to kenwood but i cant find the reciept.
