About: This tutorial is going to show you the basics of finding an IP Address. What can you do with an IP? You can Dos/ddos it which in simple words means just sending a lot of traffic to their router and taking it offline. So they won't be able to connect to the internet with anything.

Steps: (Make sure your Xbox is connected to Xbox Live during this)
1. Go to www.oxid.it and click on Projects on the top then go down to where it says Cain & Able and click on that and go down and download the second link. After doing so go through the instructions and keep pressing continue and then it'll ask you to download WinSCP. Download it, it's a requirement to have Cain working.

2. After, run Cain as a administrator and it'll say some features won't work but that's alright, just press okay and something like this will show up now.



3. Now click on the sniffeer tab.



4. After click on it click on stop / sniffer on top.



5. After clicking on it, to the right of it you'll see a blue cross which won't be hard to spot. Click on that. And something like this will pop up.



6. Make sure all hosts in my subnet is selected, now press okay and it'll start scanning mac addresses. And now a whole load of different things will pop up. Now you'll see under OUI fingerprint tab will show Microsoft Corporation. To the left of it will show it's IP Address. Remember that IP and remember the first IP on top which is usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. Now click on the APR tab on the bottom.



7. After, click on this blue cross again and then select the IP that was shown first on the Hosts tab and on the second box select your Microsoft Corporation IP.



8. After click on the nuke sign next to the stop/sniffer to start pulling IP's. Now IP's will pop up :) Make sure someones in a part with you, if you're trying to find the IP of a host it's the one with the most packets going towards it. Also if you lag at all while finding IP's it's very common with cain and some pop up errors will come up but press okay for them.

Does your Xbox need to be hooked up to your computer via Ethernet? Or does it have to be hooked up to your Internet?

Yes it has to be connected to the internet.. o.o

It doesn't need to be connected via ethernet cable as far as I know.

Cain doesn't require a ethernet, it works wireless.
And yes you have to be on your internet...

I posted this because it was for a group project of posting simple tutorials.
So that's why it's in the beginner section, including this one is the most detailed tutorial & is noob friendly plus the others ones died off.
Including the threads you posted aren't cain tutorials, there a whole variety on asking questions of cain or other use of cain.

And calling me LQ when I actually wrote a tutorial for new members, not you so leave.
Including the fact that I have 100x more knowledge then you skids trying to flame me for posting a thread for new members.

I really wish people took the time to search with google or actually used the search function like it was implemented for. And plus if you don't know how to use this by now then you shouldn't even be able to open it... There's only 200+ youtube tuts on this & 1000 written tuts.

Probably cause your router default IP isn't selected or your microsoft Ip or maybe both.

When I click Nuke i get error saying "Couldn't bind HTTPS acceptor socket" It used to work fine before I port fowward and the Ipv4 stayed .6 in the end...

When I start ARP Poisoning the only IPs I get are my external IP and the internal IP for my xbox, also they keep appearing. Can you please help?

Everytime i search for ip's it kicks me off my ps3. I turned my windows firewall off and it still kicked me off.
