I just started some work on a new booter and I was wondering what y'all think of this grey design:

(Currently the icons on the navbar are the same and some of the elements have flat background that I plan to change sometime soon)

Dude, I dunno. I was gonna completely revamp a new layout but I soon discovered this is what the people want. They want something fullscreen, flexible and easy to navigate. I dunno, I think it's because most booters are made from AdminCP templates which are primarily based around this template.

Looks ok with the grey...but to be more honest it's so familar.Must be one of my accounts I have XD

Every single thread I put up about a custom booter design people always say "looks familiar", I've came to the conclusion that it's because MOST booters use the same sorta layout and some use the same kinda colors.

But I can assure you this is 100% from scratch.

Because most "coders" copy and paste code to make the source and they use Ra.geBooter as a "template".

I couldn't agree more with this statement. Every booter nowadays uses Rage Booter source. And so-called booter devs just copy and paste code to make it look custom when really it's just a boostrap'd rage booter source with a few tweaks to the theme.

Imo, the grey theme doesn't compare. It's nice, but the user icon is always a cool thing to have.

Yeah, I know. I'm trying to stray from flat UI like that one you posted is. I spent much more time on that one, this one I did spend some time one but I'm gonna incorporate a user avatar etc. somewhere.. Thanks anyway dude.

I'm going say what Mr Slothells said, it looks just like any other booter. Good job if you coded it from scratch but there doesn't seem to be any new designs and looks like it was copy&pasted which ofcourse, if it wasn't, is not good.

If I can think of a better layout that people would like.. I'll change it.

Most booters have this layout because it's easy to navigate and use.
