Laptop Display + Sound --> TV

I currently have a Toshiba Satellite A665-S5184, and a 32" [url=http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16889102960]Samsung TV. I was looking up ways to connect my laptop to the TV w/ sound. I found several different people using a variety of different cords to get this done and I was completely unsure of which one to go with or which would be compatible with my laptop and TV. I'm not that great with computers, so I thought I'd ask before I go out and buy some cords that may or may not work. The reason I'm trying to get this to work is because I have a laptop with movies and whatnot downloaded on it, and it'd be nice to watch a movie on a bigger screen when nothing is on TV. If you're able to help me, I'd appreciate it. I just need to know what cords I need to buy and a link to buying the cord would be nice, but not needed. Thank you.

State the ports your laptop has or the model number for an exact answer.

If you do not have an HDMI port then i am positive you have a vga output. Connect the vga to your tv for display and use computer speakers for sound if your tv does not have the input for audio.
