Hi all,
As the thread states wanting to know the best of the best.
Currently using....
Adware (Lavasoft)
AVG (hack serial)
Spybot
CClean
RegClean
Registry Mechanic (hacked with patch)
Just wanting to know if there are 1 or two products I could get for my PC that would be superior to these ones to make my life alot easier when I need to scan/repair my machine.
If you know links to full version ones that would be awesome 🎉

Free AV Avast! In my opinion.
Why not use Malwarebytes also?
Not sure about reg cleaner.
Only used CCleaner for that.
Ok thanks for your advice, alot of the stuff I have carried over from my super old unit (windowsme pc lol)
and had various updates done to the software and used them on this machine since I am not really in the know about what is good to use these days.
Always referred to Netguide book for its opinion/free trials etc etc
AVG is shitties AV, they've psuhed spyware toolbar (gathering NXD and possibly other data) with free installs.
Also they have highest rate of false alarms (20%) but on other hand it might discover unknown threats (if you don't mind hundreds of annoying pop-ups with false alarms).
I use NOD32 - not best each year but best during long period.

I always thought it had a decent reputation, removed the toolbar but for the last year or two the updates are making it more and more annoying (Your computer started 150% faster) etc etc
Thanks for the opinion I await more from others to see how the numbers stack may end up having a look/try on most if not all since I really want something that will last me for a good period of time.

Also their current "supplier of toolbar" isn't Czech company gathering NXD data, but are some Israelis collecting data from about 200M computers (so probably something shady as AVG is like 20-30M).
Some of these datas are used to feed their site http://www.similarweb.com/
Another vote for malewarebytes its saved me many times

Yup Lavasofts Ad aware is insufficient since like 2011. They where best long time ago but where rolled by Spybot S&D back then.

Ok awesome will do, running Vista Ultimate this machine is pretty old and not in the know for the requested software.

No not really on S&D. Uninstall S&D and add Superantispyware. Almost the same thing but it honestly performs better. In my opinion.

Malwarebytes free is ok ? or full premium version has fire wall etc?
Just trying to get all in one if I can less screwing around lol.
If anyone has a legit link to software + patch/crack or serial would be great.

Also, you'll be good with Malwarebytes free, as you should leave the real-time protection to your Antivirus.
Ok thats cool, I have downloaded it however I am doing a hyper scan and I am into 20+ hours so far, should it take this long??
Also what Antivirus do you suggest to combo with Malwarebytes?
I see so many suggestions on the internet I am super confused.
Thanks.

Ccleaner is alright.
Spybot is fine as well.
The rest is shit. I wouldn't recommend AVG to anyone, It's a CPU hog and does useless shit. Most crypters pass it up EASILY.
I recommend HitManPRO. It uses multi AVs to find the file in infection. It will fix any disabled tasks, such as regedit, etc. You'll be sure to have your computer fixed in no time. Other Most AV Scanners cannot pickup crypted files. But HitmanPRO goes through all TCP/UDP Network connected Executables in your system drive, and hidden malware in directories in which you cannot reach. Did I not mention it scans with internet connection, so it's updated on point, no installation updates. This is real-time scanning. You can sign up for free for 30 days, or just use it once without registration. The only problem is that it does NOT have real-time protection, you must run it, it is a scanner, not a full rounded firewall.

Well it depends, what are your computer specs ? Which version of Windows are you running ? Do you want a free or a paid Antivirus ?
Win Vista Ultimate 6gb ram amd 64x dual core 5000+ 2.6ghz
Paid anti virus is fine.
was just looking here;
http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/test-centre/s...pc-laptop/
Norton/Bit defender actually good or can you recommend something better?
(Apr 16, 2014 03:34 PM)Aurа Wrote: Norton is just plain crap and Bitdefender uses A LOT of resources.
Also, you're running the worst version of Windows there is (Vista). For you, I would go with a lightweight Antivirus. Paid one, go with ESET Smart Security. Free one, go with Avast! free.
Ended up getting Avast premium looks pretty damn nice however it keeps picking up simple video files as virus? never had this come across before in the years they have been sitting on my pc.
Also what would you or anyone else recommend as a really good registry repair software for vista ultimate? (I ask this and it says that abutton.ocx file has a virus in it) not sure how to go about fixing this it just says registry repair might fix this opinions/help greatly apprecaited.
(Apr 17, 2014 06:12 PM)Aurа Wrote: Urg, should had bought ESET Smart Security but Avast! is still good, but less 😝
Can you take a screenshot of the error and post it here ?
What I mean to say is it just picks up the file as a virus hence why I googled and it said registry can cause this issue and apparently its fixable?
I just want to know how to search the issue out.
(Apr 17, 2014 05:21 PM)MaiTriCks Wrote: Really? it's picking up the video files? Probably your files have been binded with other executable files. Where did you obtain the video files from?
I suggest that you click on my signature and then you will see my thread which will allow you to learn how to speed up your computer extremely fast, it's amazing.
Anyway in which I can tell if these video files are actually binded to exes ?
Thanks.
