It's acutally not bad for a first time!
Maybe you should remove the gradients and use flat shadows, you might also want to use a color palette.
But the base is good!

Definitely looks a lot better than some designs on here, I'll give you that much.

I'd avoid drop shadows / inner shadows, as long as you make the typography go good with the design you're golden.

The whole gradient you did for the header made it look eh.

I don't know what to say you know. Its your first so I can't see if you've done your best or not.
Without that I give you a 5/10, you could add more FX in this. Just mess with some photoshop tools.
