So, you want to ddos someone?
Or maybe just scare them by telling them their ip? you sneaky bastard
Well, the first thing you will need is Wireshark
If you do not have this, it can be downloaded by searching "wireshark download" on google (I cannot yet post links 😭)
After that, open it up :)
Setup:
So, if you are going to be grabbing ip's on your xbox, you are going to want to be getting internet to your xbox from your computer through an ethernet cable! Just hook them up, yep, thats right! :) You will need to change some settings up... I am not 100% certain how to do this on all OS so just search google how to share your wifi connection through your ethernet port
Scanning your victims: 😁
Before I start, make sure you do not have any connections to your victims. The best place to be when setting up to scan is right on the home page of your xbox or play station.
This is what it will look like when you first open up wireshark. Go ahead and double click on "ethernet" right below the big start button. Woah! a ton of ip's are showing up! Don't worry, you can stop that by hitting the red box at the top.
Now its time to become a l33t hax0r... not really... But anyways, there is a box at the top titled "Filter:"... In there, you can tell it what to display in front of you. Go ahead and type "UDP" in there and press enter. It should get rid of all the funky coloured things and give you some grey boxes with ips. Now look under source, you want to get rid of all those ips as they will not be important to you... therefore, take whatever IP you see under source and type it into the filter along with "udp". Here is an example of what it should look like:
"UDP && ip.src != 192.168.2.3 && ip.src != 192.168.2.2 &&
ip.src != 65.55.42.31" etc.
The "&&" simply means "and"
as well, the "ip.src !=" means that the source ip does not equal what you have typed. So pretty much we have said that the ip is a udp, it is not 192.168.2.3, it is not 192.168.2.2, and it is not 65.55.42.31.
If you do this step correctly, you should have nothing in front of you.. You may get a couple things with empty ips (0.0.0.0) but that is fine
Next step, join your friend in a game, in a party, or anything else you want! Example, you will get all of the ips from everyone in your same lobby in call of duty. (I suggest adding them to your party in order to get only their ip.) You can also tell who is the host of a lobby you are in because you will get quite a bit more of his ip showing up on your screen then you will other people.
Once he joins, you should see a bunch of stuff popping up in wireshark, just go ahead and take a look at the "source" column. All of those ips in "source" are other people connecting to your console. Therefore, that ip that keeps popping up their is your victims!
Now you can do what you like with his ip as you now know it!
🤭
Happy hunting!
I will be making a more detailed version of this in an upcoming ebook!
It will include more effective ways of grabbing ips... not only for consoles, but for anything else connecting to your computer.
