Hi, Sorry for posting in the wrong section.
I've been trying to reinstall or download windows updates for a long time now, but I keep failing.

My conclusions are :
My files are probably corrupted, but I cant run a dism.exe or sfc scannow.
This happened after doing a other reinstall that I had to do, the first reinstall probably caused this.

Any fix?

I dont have a cd for windows 8.1, and I am using a legimate version.

At the logon screen are you able to:

1) Hold the shift key down
2) While holding the key down, restart the system.
3) It should take you, to a screen with some options to restore and so forth.

Alright, I will try it out.

And the reinstall probably caused this.

Give it a go, if it doesn't work let me know.

If your computer is running poorly and you can't fix it, Windows 8 gives you the option to refresh the operating system without having to lose your personal files.

Things that stay the same:

o Your personal files will not be deleted. You'll find them right where you left them. However, they need to be placed in the following user folders: Desktop, Downloads, Documents, Pictures, Music and Videos. The user files that you store in other locations of the system drive won't be kept.
o Your account settings will be kept the way you have them set.
o Your Windows Store apps will remain installed.

Things that change:

o Your system settings will be restored to factory default settings.
o Your desktop applications and drivers will be uninstalled, but a list of them will be saved to your desktop to aid in their re-installation.
