Maybe like buy 20 edits for 20$ and use them as per your need.

Guides, marketplace threads, graphic design services, etc. Really not liking this change but I guess there wasn't much else on the table. Fucking idiots had to continue abusing. Now we have to deal with the limits.
I hope Omni considers an extra feature where we can be given an extended period. Like if we contact staff or something like a report button to request edit authorization. This would allow those who have legitimate reasons to modify their threads a year down the road. If authorization approved, we have 48 hours for example to edit our thread before it gets locked. And each time it'd be reviewed by mentor or w.e. This prevents abuse by staff and mentor modifying threads. This would also allow staff and mentor to make a copy of the thread before approving. If a member abuses that, they get blacklisted from that feature.
EDIT:
IF thread age > 90 days:
submit edit awaiting approval (maybe like an unapproved post)
On the mod area, staff/mentor can view original and changed side by side. If changes are legit and not abusive, approve change. If not legit, strike. 3 strikes, blacklisted from edit feature past 90 days.
1. This prevents the concern of abuse from staff/mentor directly editing post;
2. This solves the problem of legit threads needing update past 90 days;
3. Prevents edit abuse and prevents new feature abuse (3 strike rule).
Don't see any flaw in this besides it's probably a pain in the ass to code this up and that it adds more work for staff/mentors (but this is a quick Approve/Reject thing)? #MyBBStruggle
One minor flaw which is pretty damn extreme is... mentor/staff work with that member to approve the request even though it's abusive. Maybe make it 2 confirms required to be approved? Not sure, but the damage done can't be as bad as Morchid's situation. Oh, also maybe limit the amount of requests that can be made a day? 1-2 edit requests.
