I went out once with another user here, he was driving and i was scanning; and trust me, it was the most fun i have ever had.

It feels like you are a burglar, but a really good one as you know what the hell you are doing.Just watch out for cameras, they are your only real threat. It is REALLY fun... When i get a car, i will start going throughout he whole neighborhood... and map it XD

If you get busted though it would be pretty weird; "Why has that baby got an antenna?" "Oh i got him free view in his pram..."

Also protips:

- Go out when it is dark (Cover of night, and people are at home and online)
- Work out a cover story ( I say that i am looking for a BTFON or BTOpenZone hotspot to connect too)
- Have a virtual machine with winblows XP on so if someone does come close you can full screen it and hide up all the suspicious terminals.

Do you use a notebook or laptop? I got a laptop and it's a bit big and heavy. It's not heavy but just heavier than i'd like it to be if i'm wlaking with it.

Once wardrived a few times when a friend of mine needed a lot of movies downloaded before he headed home to his own 'shitty small town with 1/.25megabit'... <--- We also hacked a few cellphones throug BT, at a crowded field once - 'Got to of the persons from the place calling eachother and reverse' xD (Actually think it was Auditor I used at that time. lol)...

And WEP'd a few neighbours wireless some time ago, when my old router was doomed to hell and left for dying..

I do this stuff, but i use my Desire(phone) 24/7 with a app called''wifi tracker'' to scan all networks everywhere i go and autosend the logs including gps location to my mail. I go back later with my lappy to own/use the open and wep networks

I did do a war walk once with a little script I found that automates wep cracking (incase you dont know i like to automate evrything)ws.tcl and ity can either scan for wep in range or you can supply a ssid and ch # i let it scan on a twenty minute walk cracked 4 networks 2 of wich were sky and when decoded into ascii was actually the phone number for the houses gfollowed by uk i took it uppon myself to call these houses and inform them of there lapse in judgement they didnt take kinfly to it and i got a few abusive messages =D

That is the one thing with mucking with wireless is that you never get to see the reaction faces.. Also a WEP cracking mobile would be sweet, i think i read something about a model plane that got kitted out to crack WEPs!
