Leaving the thread open will allow people who searched their issue to ask a question in that thread, rather than starting a new thread and getting flamed for not searching.

h3x0s. I have often thought there should be the option. Close thread is often irritating with new programmers closing the thread when given the first working example. In many cases have been terrible examples.

That never happened on HF. People always make a new thread about their problems. This options should be included because 10 people post same suggestions.

That's because everyone is stupid, and they close their threads when they're resolved rather than leaving them open.
