This question goes out to Ty and sudsy, but why did you say "but the unemployment rate ticked up from 6.1 to 6.2%"?
No offense, but it makes me wonder if you guys know what the jobs report even means. If jobs are added and the rate ticks up, that means more people are trying to join the workforce, not that 6.2% of working age Americans are unemployed.
This is the 6th straight month of 200k+ jobs added, taking out seasonal changes, and it suggests that the economy has almost fully pulled itself out of the recession, going back to pre recession unemployment rates.
Also surprised that there was no mention of the two larger mergers falling through.
