Dude, these movies are probably the best movies on earth. Although I hate the Hobbit movie series.
There just.. Wasn't the same emotion, not the same morbidness, there was no sense of empathy for me.
I think the seen that gives me the most feels is in the third one when the king sends soldiers out and they all know they will die and people are just tossing roses at their feet as they go off to their death.
Edit: the 'steward' of gondor.

They cast the wrong person for Bilbo imo, though his personality does kinda fit Bilbo it didn't bring the same light that I would of hoped for.

The older [edit: newer not older] movies used computer generated stuff I think as well, and it resulted in the battles looking really shitty.
Also WAY too much comedy relief.
I think another aspect is as well, there is a lot less humans in it, so you don't really empathize as well.
And honestly, the entire world isn't at stake in the hobbit movies, whereas the world was at stake in the LOTR.
I don't know man, The Hobbit just was a disappointment to me.

Yeah, the comedic effects they used kinda ruined the whole tension of the storyplot.

No he isn't, he has multiple personality disorder, and you also spelled schizophrenia incorrectly to, people such as yourself (which is the majority of the human population) are so misinformed about mental illness, people always seem to think schizophrenia is either Bipolar or multiple personality disorder... its not, schizophrenia is basically where you suffer from Delusions, Hallucinations (both auditory and visual and even smell and taste) there's many other symptoms but those are the main ones.
Bottom line: Gollum is not a schizophrenic, you're just adding to misinformation with your post.
