I do not understand how the role of the foundation helps to "set a new standard for privacy through the use of groundbreaking cryptography."
Considering they've not managed to push out a Windows client (or one for other OS'), or fixed the broken download link, they could be doing things more productive than creating a foundation. I feel like they're getting ahead of themselves and forgetting their own mission statement. But you're mistaken if you think this means that I'll be turning down a new award on my profile 😏 I don't middleman any deals on- or off-site. Please don't message me requesting my past services and certainly don't fall for anybody who claims to be me.

When I read up on it and do my research I find it a very limited alt-coin for usage in global commerce. (Mar 17, 2017 11:34 AM)Grizzlies Wrote: It's been out for a while. I believe the price hit $60 before. Lol, I just checked and the available supply is 800k. That's not alot. If anything I take it as a good sign that even partially developed applications the coin is still doing fairly well. Quote:or fixed the broken download link, Not sure where you got that broken link. From their home page they have a DOWNLOAD link that goes to this: https://z.cash/download.html Seems to work fine. Quote:early-invest? it's been out for a whileActually their FAQ says this: Quote:The Zcash block chain launched on October 28, 2016 So it's really a fairly new blockchain. Not even 5 months old. Judging from the 800k available supply and the relatively low price compared to that supply it's a good time to buy them. I believe, I gathered em at around $37 each.

BTC is already too widely and firmly established within the online community as well as the darknet. There are too many buyers and sellers familiar with bitcoin. It's the same reason why PayPal is still being used by many, even when they hate it, regardless of their LQ limitation system and chargeback policy. That and the fact that most people's knowledge about bitcoin and other altcoins is very limited, prevents them from even considering to move away from Bitcoin and change to a new altcoin. Makes a lot of sense. I think BTC has things covered if it can increase tx speed. I don't see another crypto taking BTC's spot - ever - Visit my STORE !

Bitcoin has indeed survived the test of time, but I still feel like new alt coins that have some sort of uniqueness to them that can make them become competitive. People say Monero is the BTC replacement of the darknet because the blockchain becomes private. I think your PayPal analogy is a little flawed because you are only looking one audience of PayPal, where many people are unaffected by your qualms with PP. But more importantly, there are quite a few popular PayPal alternatives these days anyway Quote:I don't see another crypto taking BTC's spot - ever - I'm absolutely positive that one will. Myspace was destroyed by Facebook. Yahoo was destroyed by Google. Texas Instruments was destroyed by Intel. White Castle was destroyed by McDonalds. I can go on and on... Being the first almost always means a doom to destruction by a competitor that learns from the market and makes adjustments faster than the original. BTC might always been in the top 5 but I'm certain it will not remain #1. ETH imho already has a strong position to overtake it. But most importantly, the difference margin between the companies you mentioned is huge, whereas buyers and sellers experience little difference and 99% don't know the difference nor are they affected by it. The same cannot be said for the companies you mentioned, because the reason why all of that happened was because the customers and consumers liked the latter companies better than original dominators. Why would 99% of the BTC consumers like any other altcoin better than Bitcoin? Not to mention how liable a new altcoin would be in terms of risk of crashing in comparison to BTC. |
