So are people actually going to have a chance to join this group or is it going to be another 'who-you-know' pass down from previous owners / members? Would very much like to be apart of this but a few groups I haven't even bothered to apply to simply because of this.

Romania and I have gone after each other several different times and I was even on his ignore list before receiving a PM out of the blue asking if i'd like to join the group.
Based on that, I wouldn't say it's a "you gotta know somebody" type of group.

We request that they be active. It isn't a requirement. It's evident your intellect isn't up to par though, we apologize. I'll translate it for you. It ISN'T required that people are active in that section; HOWEVER, they simply won't be recruited until the recruitment they submit an application. Daniel, for example, is extremely active in the section and was consequently handpicked by myself to join the group.

Essentially, it isn't required but if you wish to join, it's highly recommended.

We will not be adding people solely because we know them. The people we have chosen have a particular reason that they have been welcomed. As Daniel said, we disagreed on essentially every topic and hadn't been very well-acquainted. Regardless of that, I recognized his devotion to discussion while remaining professional and consistently offering an intellectual stance. While it doesn't align with my beliefs in the slightest, I still recognize that he is a great asset for the group.
