Good anime, but I never liked how it deviated from its religious roots centered around the spirits of dead people and "exorcist swordsmen" that were present in the earlier episodes. It eventually became a typical Shonen with people throwing Water, Fire, Earth, and Air at each other. The Espada are cool tho.

Well it didn't exactly Deviate from it, it just expanded onto the story. If you pay attention, everything that occurs in the story happens due to threats toward the spiritual plane as well as world of the living.

Wow, I really outdid myself with this thread. If anyone is considering starting Bleach I still definitely recommend.

Never could really get into anime myself but was told by a friend if I ever chose to try and pick up the taste for it that bleach was a great place to start. Nonetheless, great review OP.
