How reasonable would it be to make this feature a group subforum feature that leaders can use? Assuming group owners deem this as a benefit?

This is in response to it not remaining in the public forums, maybe it would have a place in private (group) forums.

Why? Groups are small and group forums not even that active. I don't see the benefit.

Rough and early thought but thinking out loud.. If the feature won't be used publicly, maybe it has a home in private subforums. It would need to be modified, however. Rebranding the feature to a "Viewed in the last 24 hours" or potentially giving leadership ability to adjust between 24h, 48h, 72h, 1w.

It's a bit off-topic from this thread but would be nice to see what group leaders and members think. Personally, I think the benefits are:

• Leadership can assess activity based off this
  
• Members can communicate efficiently with those who've seen such thread
  
• Overall, this would be a collaborative datapoint that can be used in many creative ways beyond what I can think of at this time
  

Or I'm just overthinking it and this would be over-engineered.

I miss this feature, I think it was active before 2018 or something. umm but it was below instead.

Yes, it was on the bottom. Moved to the top fold as I find that more valuable.

That's not how the feature works. It's literally based on real-time viewing of the thread. It is not a log of everyone who viewed the thread. What you're asking will not happen.

I thought you had said at one point you only wanted this to be a feature where vendors could see their own thread. As it stands, it COULD be used by competitors to watch competing threads and contact potential customers of other vendors to try and steal away

Yes, likely what I'll do is write a more robust plugin for this. Looks like the hook location is a problem and I may have to do some core edits to accomplish that.

Since the feature does seem to be a hit what I may end up doing is having it display Viewers in Marketplace and/or Paid Sticky threads for Vendors only. But the rest of the forum will have it for Ub3r. Because you're right, could be used by competitors or leakers to be a pain in the ass.

I might even have time today to get this done. Gotta see what else is going on.
