I don't really see the odds of someone like me getting in. I've said these things all one time or another. I'm on the forum daily, but it seems like the only ones that ever get invited to these type of groups are:

That's not true at all, sometimes yeah who you know or popularity plays a part in it, but groups have recruitment for a reason. I mean fuck dude if you want a spot in this group go work for it, go post in a section you feel like you could contribute too. Go help people you feel like you could help and you'll get there man.

If this is run anything like 143 was then being popular and giving away shit won't mean a thing, neither will being friends with anyone actually. There are a lot of new variables in play here so we'll see. Time will tell.

Take a piece of advice from someone who tried and learned from the experience. Don't try just because you want in the group, just help those because you want to help a member in need out. Don't do it for the userbar, do it because you actually want to help that member out and care. The rest will fall into place after that.
