a vps dos'er is rubbish , can only really hit up to 1gb/s and thats like a $300+ month one but most only hit 100mb/s and that will only take down some home connections

http://www.lowendbox.com has some nice links on cheap VPS's. Also don't enter your real info, or else they'd send it to the cops.

Use the " vi " command insted.. to edit the file

what does it say when u try to connect?

if it says connection refused or a pop up comes up u need to submit a ticket to ur hoster and explain your issue . make sure u put everything in correctly.
