One important change for new group recruitment is that you can't post for donations to begin a custom user group. Given the potential for scammers to earn fast money we discourage any member from making payment to a group that does not exist.

It was perhaps not for the groups, now, it is.

Can I ask for member donations to start a group?
You may only do so privately and we discourage members from donating to start a group. It's possible the person taking the donations is a scammer. So don't trust anyone. In any recruitment thread do not ask for donations to begin group.

Paid custom groups were meant for heavy donators not for skids that get 50 donations. I want less groups not more. Every idiot should not have a custom group.

Great addition Omni, next hopefully the recruitment thread can be cleaned and only used for serious groups not skiddy kids trying to grab donations or transfer users to their own forums. Have seen allot of members especially the ones with less then 100 posts with no L33t or Ub3r.

I think this is a good rule because I have seen a lot of non-official groups asking for donations and such to become official, and then in the end they never become official. 🤦‍♂

Oh well, but most custom groups are full of shit and shouldn't have been made official unless they stuck to what they promised.

I believe they just made a group to give them fame and to show off, not to actually benefit Hack Forums.

I have a separate group idea anyway, similar concept but would me managed A LOT better imho.

Does this apply if you have paid the initial amount and you need additional funds for the final payment?
