Even if someone gets banned, as long as it's the first time (I think) it will only be a suspension.
If you get banned for free wins, it is a month ban. But, along with that month, your stats ALL get reset. After that month, you can take the GTs off the account and put them on a new account. I was an admin for Madden 13, I know the rules of GB extremely well. Therefore, I can cheat their system like no other :)

If you're talking about MLG rank being reset, it doesn't. Otherwise I don't think people really care about the other stats since most people choose to hide them on their profile.

Or I can tell you from experience I received no MLG rank reset whatsoever. Apart from the rank increasing over the space of time I was banned, it was pretty much the same.

Because the chances are you're just another one of those people that claim to be an admin or ex-admin. Mine and a mates accounts both got banned, neither of our ranks are reset.

If you are banned for free wins your MLG rank gets reset, trust me two of my accounts got reset lol.
