I was wondering how "someone" would go about obtaining another persons IP address from a twitch.tv live stream?

This includes the people in chat, as well as the "host", who is live streaming.

You probably can't because everyone connects to the host as opposed to directly connecting to someones ip.

If they are posting their Skype you can resolve their IP and get it from there

No way although the best method i do is make a new account and say i want to donate can we speak over skype once you have there skype ip , ip resolve it :)
if you do not have a skype to ip just message me.

You can't do it using packet sniffers, but you could ask them for their Skype name, then resolve at http://#.net/resolver.php

I love to watch Twitch.tv. I wouldn't try to dos anyone. But I have looked into it, I'd say the site(s) are pretty secure.

There is an XSS on /directory/all on Justin. Maybe you can manage something there.

Given whats been suggested. Seems the best bet is to go somewhere else.

If the cookie set is to the main website and everything under it (webroot and below) and not to a specific dictionary, that 'honeypot' is exploitable just like any other vuln.

You can't obtain IP directly from twitch.tv but you can SE him to obtain it. The safest way is to do skype resolving like suggested because you don't leave any trace if you're smart.

As I see it 95% of all streamers being DDOSed is due to them showing their skype name in one way or another.

Most streamers don't have a clue about the inner workings, so they leak information now and then.
Even Kripparrian had "PornHub" in his suggested google sites - so noone is perfect.

Every once in a while you will see a donation link, which connects to paypal, which uses email as an address - and sometimes they also use the same email for skype. Facebook API also allows you to extract emails from contacts, whomever is either a friend or a fan in your facebook group.

There's many ways, it's all about using what you see and know.
