I do understand now who you're working with the post shoutouts. People should just keep in mind that just cause you land on say 50th, you won't keep it. There could be some low quality posts that push your posts down so try not make yourself look foolish by posting that you're the 50th or 100th 🤝

I am very understanding of why HF News would want to increase the activity, the more the better. However, I think the acknowledgment of a member's post/debate should be the only entry of getting a shout out. As you have witnessed the users of HF are discussing more on who had gotten the entry to the shout out rather than the breathtaking HF News. Hopefully you reconsider the alteration of the News Notable.

Because it's brand new.

My point is that this is a redundant way of getting activity to flourish. Posting for the sake of the count is by no means going to yield quality posts, which is what you're also trying to avoid, no? A better alternative would be to offer a recognition of the most beneficial criticism or the most quoted comment. It should pertain to the quality of the posts, not the quantity of them. This way people have a genuine reason to post something useful rather than just a reason to post.
