A Hackforums 'Resume' on your profile.

I was just thinking about this writing a group application. If you want to make a good application, they take at least an hour to write. Why not just have a hyperlink on your profile which shows all your skills etc?

It can be like the personal notepad, but you can edit it and it will save the same way, but will be publicly accessible.

For example, I am a group leader, and someone was interested to join my group, I could just go to their profile and look at their group 'resume' so if another leader was looking at them, they both see the same information instead of people posting different information on different recruitment threads.

I was thinking it could replace the home page, or be inserted above it.

If Anonymous was looking for Legion members, in the recruitment thread, he could state to include hacking information in the 'group resume'. This also goes for e.x. Sasori for FBN.

What do you guys think?

F.A.Q.

Q.Why would group owners go looking for members?
A.They won't, there will still be group threads made by leaders, this is just so members don't have to write up thousands of words for every group and can have one public application.

Q.I don't want to fill one out.
A.It's completely optional, just like the personal notepad. You don't have to use it at all, it's just there if you find it easier which I assume everyone would.

Will add more when needed.
I don't think all group owners will actively start to look at people's profiles just to see what their skills are. Having a recruitement thread is much nicer in my opinion because that way you can recruit the people who are interested in joining the group.

There will still be recruitment threads, just not HUGE applications, they just say to check their profile.
I do like this idea honestly.
It would be easier for people to type out all of their skills and stuff.
Recruitment threads are just a huge hassle.

I mean, I don't know how leaders pick individuals, but it does help a lot. In essence, I don't think people just look at the application and say it's a go or no, they check REP and the member's posts/threads to see more in depth of the person applying to get a better know.

The Resume idea is pretty sick, been wanting to get into a group for a long time, be part of a community, but I just don't feel as if anybody reads over my apps. They see a L33T with almost no rep or rewards and skip over it. I even PM'ed two leaders/reviewers that voluntarily said that they will review over the applications by shooting a PM on the recruitment thread but they never answered back on the post or response.

The Resume idea would be a good way for people to gradually build up into something better as time goes along, and would potentially grasp the attention of a few members in groups by clicking on their profile.

"Oh this person seems really nice and interacts well with each other, let me read up more on him/her."
clicks, resume pops up

"If you were to write a story with me in the lead role, it would certainly be a tragedy."
Why not just go full monty and make resume pages like mine;

I like this idea, but it won't get rid of recruitment threads completely. Every group has different requirements in their application, so your "resume" won't be able to fit everything a group is looking for. But it does sound like a nice idea, especially since I'm pretty sure most groups at least have some basic application info in common for their recruitment threads.
Id rather not have this just cause I hate filling out apps and stuff as it is I don't want to be expected to have shit on my profile tbh that would suck to have to fill out for any thing.

If your lazy like me any ways.
I actually love this idea, would be really nice to have. Vouch!
By the way, I think this idea was already submitted a while ago and rejected. I'll search for it !
I feel as if this was suggested before, but I can't find anything. Anyway, I think it is a very nice idea in theory, but I doubt it will be used that much. Not to mention it is another thing HF needs to serve, Staff need to moderate it, and limits would need to be placed on it accordingly. Overall, the idea is nice though.

Well, maybe Omni could get some mentors for it and it has a report button? It would make HF a lot more unique. Possibly an upgraded member only feature?
It would really be as simple as adding a new feature for "1337" and adding slightly new depth in the form of a couple new <div> tags to the profile section and a couple if()'s. I don't see why this couldn't be achieved. Practicality and sensibility will result in change.
Use your signature. It is very public. Otherwise just save your recruitment posts and use them for each recruitment thread.

Would likely be used to troll. You can do that anyways in your sig if it's that important to you.
