It wasn't extracting with the zip, so I checked the archive and sure enough it was there. When I dragged it to my desktop, it stayed there for a few seconds before disappearing.

Try to whitelist that dictionary you extract it to with your AV. That's most likely your problem.

If you already have the latest drivers:
Remove them + SDK. Then reboot. Then install the drivers again and install the SDK after that. Then reboot and try again.

If not:
Update your drivers.

I've updated my drivers, uninstalled+reinstalled SDK and rebooted, same error.
Btw, I DO have a GPU (old one, but its still a GPU), but it says it can't find it?

Remove your drivers AND the SDK. Then install the drivers and then the SDK.

I entered the info of my hardware etc, downloaded it from that link.
Yes, I have a pretty shitty AMD GPU, I got it for free, but its the Radeon x600 Pro.

Not sure about your issue though. My best suggestion would be to Google your idea and look at solved issues.
