So what would you like to see different, improved or fixed in 10?

I only hated not having it because tho process with windows 8 and pressing the windows key then typing something was just too slow. I built probably close to 1,000 machines with windows 8 and every time i had to prep it it dragged when doing the typing where as the manual clicking was faster. But to be honest with windows 10 it beats windows 7 IMO. You can use the same windows 8 concept of pressing windows key then typing but it is SOO fast im honestly amazed. You also have the option to do the old windows 7 way of getting to things. If i knew a good recording software i would record how lightning fast it is.

Aura, which version did you download?

Downloaded the x64 version. All my VMs and Windows are x64 😝
And I know right ? The .iso is so big compared to the precedent versions of Windows.

My era of providing technical support and malware removal on HackForums is over, so you can stop PM'ing me about it. Sorry.

Have you had to support more than 50 machines with Windows 8 in a business environment? I only ask because you said you liked 8 more than 7 because its faster. I mean, this is just my opinion, but 7 is so much easier to manage than 8.

If that's what i said i meant to say i liked 7 better than 8. And we support all the windows 8 machines our clients use. But im loving windows 10 way better
Just started the installation. I don't know about you, but when the Windows logo appear to load the setup, there's no loading circle or anything. A lot of people would be confused and think that the setup froze right there. Luckily, I'm patient and not an idiot and it went through under 2 minutes, so that's good. Also, looks like they still have the same installation procedure as they had in Windows 7, however, the changed the "Custom and Advanced" installation screen a bit, more font-wise and by removing the pictures. Currently installing it. I Have to go to school in like an hour, but I'll give it more testing tonight.

Thats a glitch with VM cause a fresh OS Installation shows it but yea the installation wizard is a little different. But yea like i said the circle is there i've just been seeing alot more glitches come from VM when i dont have them on a fresh install.

Don't confuse ignorance with stupidity. Not everyone is a computer nerd. We all have strengths and weaknesses.

I will be interested to see what the actual fresh install size is. If I hear a good word from the rest of you guys here, I'm thinking I'll try the preview out.

I'm almost done installing it, I'll tell you.
Also, I turned off OneDrive settings, and didn't pick the settings from my current PC with Windows 8.1, but picked to get brand new settings. Oh, and I picked the "Express Settings" for the security.
It looks like the installation size was of 9GBs. That's for the Windows 10 Tech. Preview x64.

That's actually not bad at all imo. Thanks for the info. I think I shall download and see what all the fun is about.
Just installing x32 in a VM right now; hopefully it's an improvement
Installing in a VM too, posting to come back and post screenshots.
Just a couple quick screenshots...

They slimmed down the side and bottom window borders, and added a nice drop shadow.

Playing with the virtual desktops feature, I noticed that they're not trying for isolated workspaces like the linux-based solutions that some of us may be familiar with; it shows the taskbar entries for programs on other desktops with a small bar under them. If you click on any of them, you'll swap back to that desktop. Not sure how I feel about that yet.

Another thing to note, the new snapping behavior for modkey+arrows is nice. Pressing the mod+up combo maximizes the screen like in previous versions of Windows, but pressing it again snaps the window to the top of the screen. Link
Pressing mod+down on a non-snapped window will snap it to the bottom half of the screen, and pressing it again will minimize it (as per current behavior).
Mod+left & right work as expected.
If you snap a window to the left or right side, and then use mod+up or down, it will snap the window to that corner. I'm glad that they've finally added this behavior, and I'm also glad that they recognize this should have been part of the snapping system since it was introduced.
Just to make everything Clear "Windows 9 = Windows 10"

They just changed the name from 9 to 10
