With the end of 2014, many fans look to the upcoming 2015 Winter season with great anticipation. With new shows like Absolute Duo, Aldnoah.Zero 2, Saenai Heroine no Sodate-kata, and Tokyo Ghoul, it is without a doubt that this upcoming season will not disappoint. Also continuing this season is Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, Parasyte, and Log Horizon 2.Fate/Stay Night UBW, however, will be taking a break next season to help hype fans up for its return in the Spring. This week's question for readers is: What Winter 2015 anime are you looking forward to watching?
Fans Vote For Which Anime Heroes They'd Rather Not Be
It's a fairly common question that is asked online: "What anime would you like to be the hero of?" MyNavi Student decided to do the opposite. They asked their readers what anime they would not like to be a hero of.
The rationale behind these votes ranged from: "I don't want to be bullied everyday", "the hero is probably in pain every day" and "I would be too traumatized."
Here is the top 10:
Doraemon
Dragon Ball
A Dog of Flanders
Neon Genesis Evangelion
3000 Leagues in Search of Mother
Detective Conan
One Piece
Crayon Shin-chan
Attack on Titan
A Little Princess Sara
Chibi Maruko-chan
In any case, wouldn't it be cool to live in an aniworld for one day? What show would you like to live in?
Namco Brings Pac-Man to Suburban Chicago With A Barcade
The American branch of Namco Entertainment has recently acquired space in the new Level 257 arcade that will be opening in Chicago's Woodfield Mall in 2015. The 40,000 square foot barcade will have a 180-seat restaurant; cocktail lounges with firepits; a sports bar with craft beers, wines, and cocktails; an art gallery; private event spaces; and of course, plenty of games. The name "Level 257" comes from the inevitable glitch every Pac-Man player will encounter once they clear the 256th board of the game.
Construction on Level 257 has already begun, and the building is set to open in early 2015. Check it out if you ever find yourself in the Chicago/Schaumburg area!
Casio's Danbo Camera
Yotsuba&!'s cardboard robot Danbo has seen so many different variations over the years, and now it's helping you capture precious moments in life that should not be forgotten so easily. In collaboration with Casio, Yotsuba&! has created a case that fits snugly over the Casio EX-FR10, while still allowing touchscreen through a window in the back of the case. The user is able to take pictures through one of Danbo's eyes in the front. The cameras come in three colors: orange, green, or white, and include a Revoltech Danbo mini embedded with Casio and Exilim EX-FR10 logos, all of this for 49,680 yen (~$412).
The product is set to ship in April 2015.
Grisaia no Kajitsu Gets Two Sequels To Conclude Triology
Grisaia no Kajitsu, the TV anime that aired this past Fall season, has been given the green light by its studio, 8bit, for the adaptation of the other two visual novels, Grisaia no Meikyuu and Grisaia no Rakuen. Since these visual novels have yet to be translated to English, it will give non-Japanese speakers closure to the series and hopefully answer some questions that were left open ended at the end of the first visual novel.
The first sequel is set to air in March, while the second one will be airing in the Spring 2015 anime season.

This week, we'll be looking at the rock/metal genre of Japan. (1982–97, 2007–present)
To start off, you may have heard of this group before and that's because they were a huge hit in Japan. Although still widely popular, this group has had several band member changes with a total of 13 replacements. The original band members titled the band 'X' while searching for a new name although that name stood for a long time until the bass player, Taiji left the group. The announcement given was that he left because of musical differences but in an autobiography, he claims he was asked to leave the group when he confronted Yoshiki (band leader) because of the gap of income between Yoshiki and the others. The group has also disbanded and stayed inactive for 2 years until announcing a remastered album to be released in June, 2014. This band has actually had an impact on the weeaboo movement, with the band preforming at Anime Expo in California on June 29, 2007. The band had not only an impact on the movement but they are also one of the founders of the style 'Visual Kei' which consists of colorful outfits and heavy makeup. The band was an influence/idol to many other musicians. In 1999, Yoshiki was asked by the Japanese government to compose and preform a song for the Japanese Emperor Akihito to honor his 10th anniversary of his enthronement. Junichiro Koizumi, former prime minister of Japan, is a fan of XJapan and used one of their songs in several commercials.
Dead End

Dead End is another heavy metal band formed in 1984. This band has also suffered a disbandment in 1990, lasting almost 20 years until they announced they would reunite in August 2009.
This band, just like XJapan, had a large influence on the Visual Kei movement. The band also had member replacements but not as much as XJapan eventually replacing three members. The band has a unique style of playing thus causing confusion in categorizing their music. One of the unique traits of the band was the singing style of Morrie which are distorted yet clean vocals. Morrie was inspired by the American singer Ronnie James Dio claiming he "learned how to crush the treble pitches" from Dio. He was also influenced by Baki from Gastunki, another Japanese rock band, to create his own style of singing.
Above, you can see what Visual Kei is. It's very bright and uses a lot of flashy colors. Looking at this, you may think of cosplaying since it mainly uses those aspects although it doesn't base it off of any anime character. Visual Kei is used as stage presence and is a movement created by Japanese musicians. Even though this is a dress style, it's associated with certain types of genres such as Pop, Rock, Metal, Heavy Metal, Electric Music...
"Man fears the darkness, and so he scrapes away at the edges of it with fire."
So for this weeks cosplay we have a classic anime cosplay here. That's right, we have Rei Ayanami from the timeless anime classic: Neon Genesis Evangelion. Among browsing the countless pages on Exhentai and World Cosplay, I haven't found anything that has struck me quite the way this cosplay has. The way the lighting, posing, costume design, and coloring shows excellence on both the photographer and the models part.
Unfortunately, I cannot seem to find this models name. I would love to see more of her. But alas, there is always gold to be found among the coal, you know? But enough of that, back to the cosplay, the images in the set are beautifully edited. I love the subtlety in her poses and even the simplicity of her outfit. It's enough that you can tell its Rei from Evangelion, but also not overdone. Which is the problem I find on a lot of mainstream cosplayers out there. But, what sold me completely on this weeks cosplay corner were the photo's that were taken underwater.
It's no easy task to take even decent looking photo's underwater. And the fact that the photographer not only pulled it off, but made it look excellent, really shows me his experience. A lot of people tend to forget that there's a photographer behind the model. Cosplay is a team effort and for the final product to shine, all parties need to give it their 100% best. Which I feel, was absolutely given here, in this weeks cosplay corner with Rei Ayanami.

There is only 3 characters listed on MAL and this is the only one with a picture and none have descriptions. Since I'm not the one who watched the show I am unable to provide an adequate characters section. Sorry.
Tails' Opinion

Programmargorp's Opinion
Cipher is a masterpiece by Tominaga Tsuneo that features extensive philosophy, art, laughter, tears and confusion. As the name implies, Cipher is like a cipher, written in a way which only the smartest of the smartest would be able to decipher.
Set in the 1980s, Cipher gives us the deepest insight into life that we could ever imagine, in the form of Siva and his twin brother Jay, who shares a bromance while dating a high school girl at the same time. The deliberate misspelling on the cake commercial and the 8.5 minute op of repeated scenes only added to the overall deep message that's conveyed in this film.
Naturally, a synopsis of the series was given, quoting MAL we have “Two brothers are in the spotlight: one a movie star making a football movie, the other a musician who occasionally goes to school (to cover for his sibling). What will destiny bring them?”
Except, none of that actually happens, or at least I don’t think it does anyway.
Moving away from the satire that I was attempting to write, Cipher is probably the flat out worst series I have ever watched in my entire life. In fact, it’s worse than Mars of Destruction, Inferno Cop and Tenkuu Danzato Skelter Heaven (Don’t ask me why I watched those). From the sheer laughter I managed to get from the series I really wanted to give it a higher score, but time and time again I found it impossible to do so since there’s really nothing there.
So, the bottom line. Should you watch Cipher?
The answer: Yes. Beyond the fact that Cipher is one of the worst anime in existence, you should watch this for the experience as well as for you to establish what true bad anime is. If you thought that something like Freezing or Diabolik Lovers was bad, this will fix your scale.

Synopsis
It's the summer when Natsuru is 11. Ever since he's turned one of them down on Valentine's Day, the girls of his class have been constantly ignoring him. This changes just before summer break, when Suzumura, the tallest girl in the year, suddenly talks to him. Later, Natsuru meets Suzumura again outside school and finds out she has a secret.
Characters
I AM SCREAMING MY INTRODUCTION AT THE FRONT OF THE CLASS!!!
Natsuru Nanao (七尾 ナツル)
An 11-year-old sixth grader, Natsuru is the ace player of the school's soccer team. He lives alone with his mother. He doesn't get along well with the new soccer coach and decided to skip the summer camp. He instead stayed at Suzumura's house and went to the Bon festival with them.
I like pointlessly looking out widows too!
Rio Suzumura (鈴村 理生)
An 11-year-old sixth grader, Rio is the tallest girl in Natsuru's class. She secretly lives alone with her little brother, Yuuta, in a rundown house. She is amazingly responsible and has gone through unbelievable things. She let Natsuru stay over at her house when he decided not to attend his summer camp and later went to the Bon festival with him.
Vandie’s Opinion
Now this manga was quite short and so I don't have a lot to go off however, from what there was, I must say that it is an incredibly interesting story. Even with the short length of 5 chapters, the story has an incredible amount of depth and realism. It's very difficult to talk about the story here without going into the characters as this was a very character centric story. It starts off by introducing both the characters and then their eventual meeting. The rest of the story is about Rio's difficulties and Natsuru trying to help with them. Although the ending is a little bit of cliffhanger which made me think that the story wasn't finished yet it does fit with what would happen within the real world... maybe. Due to the ending I am going to dock a few points from the story's rating but overall it really impressed me so The story gets an all right: 8/10
So the characters are very much the essence of this manga. More than most, the characters interactions with each other are what make it what it is. Natsuru is shown to be very caring and in touch with his emotions. I don't mean that he cries a lot or anything of the sort but it doesn't take him long to know what he is feeling at any point. Rio on the other hand seems to have always liked Natsuru even if it is never blatantly stated. Rio does seem to be a much more stern character than Natsuru in many ways but her emotions towards him always seem to show through. Rio's brother Yuuta is also a key character in the story even if he is a supporting rather than main character; he has a few good moments were he seems to make Natsuru into his father figure or at very least his spiritual elder brother. Natsuru is very much the plot driver with Rio's history building the road he is going along. The characters in Kamisama ga Uso wo Tsuku were done very well and I would not be displeased if more manga developed them like this. The Characters get an amazing:9/10
When looking at the art I have to say it wasn't that good. I appreciate that Kaori has gone for a more simplistic approach to the art in Kamisama ga Uso wo Tsuku however due to this it seems that Kaori has forgotten to make it unique. The art is no means sub-par but it is certainly not much better than average. The art gets a rather standard:6/10
Looking it as a whole I very much enjoyed it. I do wish it was a bit longer preferably extending on what has currently happened as I believe that the ending was left rather open ended. The characters were very much the selling piece and certainly made up for any other flaws that were presented. I would highly recommend Kamisama ga Uso wo Tsuku to anyone who enjoyed romances despite its length and must thank Barrier for recommending it to me. Overall Kamisama ga Uso wo Tsuku Receives a nice:8.5/10
Thanks for reading my section again guys, I know that a lot of you enjoy reading AA weekly so I request that if you can, do send a PM to me requesting a manga as I feel kind of stuck when it comes to picking one out at the beginning of each week.
Synopsis:
Rising Judo Star, Gushiken Takahiro, was about to have the match that would make or break his career in two weeks. A championship match where the winner is then signed up to be a young national athlete for Japan. He was very determined to win, in order to fulfill his dreams of finally representing his country for a sport he loves so much.
He was prepared and ready, but that doesn’t stop him from being nervous for his upcoming battle. With the suggestion of his friends and classmates, he goes to a shrine that was rumoured to grant any wish or prayer. He poured all the coins from his already full coin bank into the offering box and made his prayer. After praying, he becomes dizzy and nauseous and eventually faints. When he woke up, he was already in an ancient place he didn’t recognize.
While searching for a way back to his village, he stumbles upon two girl wielding swords chasing after two… foxgirls? He questions his brain at first, but then follows them, only to be caught in on their shenanigans as well.
Who are these girls and are they involved on Takahiro’s arrival to this new world? Will he ever get back to his home place and timeline just in time for his match? Or will he be stuck there forever?
Story review:
So let me preface this by saying I decided to review this because this is issue #69 of AA weekly. Normally I would not read this kind of VN but Machina gifted me a copy so I said fuck it.
Now the story. Hmmmmmm. What should I say here? I mean I can summarize it by saying fox girls in skimpy clothing close ups. The story really wasn't anything special or good at all. This VN was literally made for the fanservice CGs and to be honest that is it.
Sound:
This is actually one of the better parts of the VN. I really enjoyed the soundtrack. So here is one the songs so you can listen for yourself. Spoiler (Click to View)
Art
So here is what your really here for if you bought the VN: the Ecchi art. It is of great quality for an indie VN but the fact that it's not 18+ was just kind of a let down. If they had gone full eroge this might have been a somewhat decent VN for the sex CGs but alas we live in a cruel world.
Overall Satisfaction:
Overall I would not recommend this VN unless you want something in your steam library to bot the hours up to 500 or something and fuck with your friends. I don't know, it would be more beneficial to you to just go look up the CGs.
(Click to View) Angel: Hey Happeh, how are you doing this evening?
Happeh: I'm doing pretty good thanks. Listening to some music and chilling out before I go to bed
Angel: Cool, cool. I'll try to keep this kinda short and get right to the point then. Well it’s been only four days since Christmas, did you do anything interesting for the holidays? Get everything you wanted?
Happeh: For the holidays we often go around seeing all the family which is my favourite bit. Nothing like relaxing with the fam. Otherwise I'm too old to 'want' things now, haha. I just buy what I want myself most of the time, but otherwise I did buy a mac with the extra money, which was nice.
Angel: Nice! And I know what you mean, nothing like heading home from university and catching up with your family? Have any plans for New Year's? Maybe you have a few interesting resolutions you would like to share?
Happeh: Yeah, being away at Uni you forget how much you miss everyone, so it was good to catch up! I plan to get drunk and do all the typical family stuff: sit around watching Jools Holland counting down the evening. Wonder if Americans even know who he is? I want to keep working hard over New Years and start getting more productive, I'd like to play some music more and write my own stuff, learn a language. All the typical stuff!
Angel: Lol I know who Mr. Holland is! I have similar plans but I'll be watching Jenny McCarthy's sexy ass during the countdown. Sounds like you have some big plans for the new year, maybe I could take a lesson or two from you. Well it has been quite some time since we've seen you around HF, it’s a little strange not seeing you around AA. So let me ask you, what's life like outside the online world?
Happeh: Well I'm not exactly 'offline' but it’s been fun. I've been busy with University and other things in life so I've been getting by, but I have to admit I do miss HF, just for the lovely anime community and the friends. It's nice to know people still remember me and I promise I'll return as soon as my ban is over, just waiting! I have to ask: how has AA been? Any big changes?
Angel: I'm sure a good amount of AA would love for you to make your return, even though there's not much to return to these days. Since the AA lounge was closed, it seems, to me at least, that a lot of the LQ posts that used to find their way into the lounge have spread to the sub-forum. Some members that I used to see frequent the section have almost disappeared, it's kinda sad really. I'm not sure if some of the community realizes, but you are the previous head editor and compiler for AA Weekly. What's it like having a project such as this lifted off your back? Do you miss it?
Happeh: It was a huge amount of pressure off my back which is always a nice feeling. As much as I loved doing AA Weekly, it was time consuming and tough. Being a part of the team you're aware of the time it takes, but for those that don't, it takes literal hours to write each article, hours to proofread, and hours to compile and release. Even with all of this, I do miss it. I love to work in those pressured environments and enjoy the moment when it all comes together. I hope one day I can get back to the helm. One other thing is that I was scared, leaving something you had built up from the graves of old posts to someone else is always hard but I trust Tweety and he's proven me right. He's done a fantastic job with being the Head Editor and so has the rest of the team, each week. It's no lie that these threads sometimes don't get the attention they deserve and the team every week comes in and still does their job with no complaints, so everyone deserves a round of applause.
Angel: I can only imagine the amount of work that actually goes into compiling even one edition of AA Weekly. I know my article only takes usually a mere 30 - 45 minutes but it is extremely satisfying to write for a community that you are a part of. I, along with the rest of the team really appreciate your kind words. It's always a wonderful feeling when you get some good, positive feedback. Have you and Tweety worked anything out for when you return to HF? More specifically, are you going to re-assume your position as head of AA Weekly or let Tweety resume the fantastic job he's been doing so far?
Happeh: I don't think it would be fair to just take over again, so I'll let Tweety keep control. I think it's a little too early to start discussing plans for when I'm back, especially when I'm still banned for another 2 months. When the time gets closer I might plan something for my return, but I'm one dude so it might not be anything special... on top of that it also seems slightly egotistical to do something lol.
Angel: Well I was just speaking from the standpoint that you were the one to bring back AA Weekly and kept it going while you could. But I see what you mean. Well I really appreciate you taking the time to let me interview you, I know it was last minute and it's keeping you from sleeping so I think we can just call it a night. Before I let you go, is there anything you would like to say to our readers?
Happeh: I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and I hope 2015 brings them everything they want. Sorry I couldn't be with AA this year. :)
Wondering into the new year
2015! I'm extremely glad that I have managed to continue the AA Weekly this far. I've been extremely busy so the releases are a little rocky, but we do manage to get it done. I would like to thank everyone on the team, everyone that was on the team, everyone that contributed and lastly but definitely not the least, all of our readers. Nothing else to really update you guys with, I just hope I can carry on pushing these out with the team every week.
