You should definitely step it up to After Effects. I used to do heavy motion graphics, and like you, I too started off in Vegas Pro. When I started to feel more advantageous, I began to increase my familiarity with C4D and Zbrush. I'd do my modeling work in Zbrush then transfer it to C4D where I'd do the motion implementations. This is an amazing route if you ever feel like getting more serious about it.

I'm thinking about it, but I barely have time or motivation to keep studying/learning better ways to do motion graphics. I know the basics but it's just faster to do everything on SV.
