K1NG - Sounds too kiddish and would either have OP benefits or just complete bs benefits.

r00t - Sounds pretty much perfect in line with obviously, the website. 4 letters, exactly what you want, seems to be the majority pick too.

J1zz - Extremely OP benefits, have to go through the whole process of mailing Omni & all staff members a 10.4 ml jizz sample with their social security numbers. Only the elite would be able to join this, top 0.8% of active HF members.

Everyone starts of as Skiddie, then after X amount of posts in:

The Lounge = Lounge Whore
HF Gamers Zone = Gamer
Programming, Coding, and Languages = Developer
Hacks, Exploits, and Various Discussions = Hacker
White Hat Malware, Virus, and Rat Removal Help = Security Professional
Marketplace = Merchant

You get the idea.

I think it would incentivise participation and engagement across the board. Plus it might help users identify and bridge social preference without dividing the community.

Right or wrong, HF has always been referred to externally as a community of skids. Why not make that our official baseline and offer channels for Skiddies to develop? That's where the real value in HF has always been. Many old school members have matured over the years. Maybe the environment could mature too?

I like this. And if you complete all the amount of X posts in each section, you then get a master rank or some type of usertitle etc.

That's a really nice idea, Kudos to you for that.
Users who register are encouraged to post in sections that are their fields of interest.

Does anyone remember those old usertitles (root@hf, nobody@hf, etc.?). They used to be pretty cool to be honest, - like ranks given to people based on their post count.  (Used to be similar to this tiered-post/rank-system as well)

I like both N3RD and R00T; though only if you think of R00T as the highest superuser on the network. Kinda seems lackluster though if it's not the best upgrade (above ub3r).
