I like the fact we can see popularity along with B rating in the marketplace. It might confuse some new members though if they don't read the rules and mistake it for marketplace rep. When did this get added?

I don't understand your point at all. What will confuse thew new members? If they're on the marketplace, there's the marketplace reputation(will show up) that you just named as 'B rating'.

I didn't just name anything, Omni named it that... If they don't read the rules they're not going to know are they.

I think that may be why they changed it from "rep" to popularity. I'm not sure tho but I see how it could get a little confusing.

People shouldn't get scammed regardless man, its unfair for people to do that to another individual. Whatever we can get that improves the marketplace is a good direction to move in.

😏 You should read rules first in RANF section
When you visit market place you will not find popularity of member and is replaced with B rating which is a separate entity independent of Popularity/rep
When you come out of Market place you can see popularity/rep and not B rating
your popularity = 134
your B rating = 0

Postbit will only display both (Popularity and B-Rating) if the thread is stickied. Otherwise Marketplace threads will only show the B-Rating.

Account Age + Trust Scan + on site purchases like upgrades/awards. Reputation before didn't earn my trust, b-rating just makes it easier to spot disputes.

I for one used reputation as a factor of trust because if I'd look through reputation and most of them were about doing a successful deal then I would consider that member trustworthy at least to an extent, I don't trust anyone on here that much.

Of course things like Trust scan have to factor into that as well. Upgrades sure but it's not hard for someone to buy a stolen HF account and scam on it. People do it all the time or at least used to so I would say awards have never been a factor to me really.

Account age also yeah to an extent, I used to write in my exchange threads that I don't go first on deals with current year registered members, it was more because I knew anyone can make a multi and scam on it.

I think everyone can agree that B-rating is doing a great job of preventing scams. Nobody likes change though, it certainly took me a little bit of time to get used to it but now I do a contract with every deal and it helps me build my actual reputation on the site. Not talking about pixels.

Reputation helped every now and then, but barley. I constantly saw scammers who scammed multiple people with 0 neg rep

I recall seeing members with over 2,000 reputation before and literally a page full of scam reports.

It pissed me off so much.
