I cannot believe there are people asking to be closed over this.

Members ask for closure all the time but for many different reasons. Sometimes they are just bored and want to move on. I don't really care. They want closed, they get it.

Oh and you'd be surprised how often they request closed and I see them on a new account months or even weeks later. A lot of people don't realize what HF means to them until they lose it.

Yeah that I believe. They should probably take a vacation ban.

A lot of quality left in Ub3r but also more of them getting bitter every week.  Since no one else can buy ub3r the pool of members in the group will continue to decline. Some will just leave, others will request closure.  And yet some might stay for another 10 years.  But the days of Ub3r being the most sought-after group on HF are over.  

I wish I could handpick ub3rs into r00t but that would probably take me a lot more time than I have available.

I'm going to be the last UB3R standing.

I love being a UB3R honestly and the fact the group isn't open anymore, I just feel like I am going to miss out on a lot of new features because I can't upgrade to rOOt now. Is this something you're working on? So UB3R can have access to all forum features as well?

I can't help but laugh a bit at the people that think by posting defiantly and requesting a closure that their protest is going to get under Omni's skin or keep him up at night or something, as if they're acting as a martyr. Unfortunately for them, they generally neglect to do a quick search on others who have taken a similar stances and how it winds up.

I don't see any issue with being Ub3r at all.

I mean, hell, after all, Omni is the Site owner and can make any decisions that he wants to, HE OWNS THIS PLACE.

Don't know why everyone is so bitchy about it, so what if Ub3r dies down, I read through the whole Forum and it seems that everyone wants to just upgrade to the new user group because of the features, and yes, at one point on HF we all wanted to be the bigger ones on the Forum by having the most features, and that's why some of us upgraded to Ub3r, but at the end of the day, if Omni wants to change something on the site, he's going to do it, as sad as it seems.

But hey, I'm not here to complain about what's going to be changed on Omni's site, I'm all for the changes.

With everything that is happening with the Ub3r usergroup, is there a chance this too will happen to the r00t usergroup when it reaches its "obsolescence date"? I don't care about Ub3r, just secure transactions and getting what you pay for.

I'll agree on this.. fair enough I had a few posts back not fully understanding until my last post in this thread then Omniscient made it clear that moving forward is the beat thing.

Hes gave birth to a new group we should all support it regardless of not being able to apply for it and losing out on features.. who gives a fuck at the end of the day ub3r essentially had it all before anyone, we should be taking that with pride and letting new faces and be people enjoy their spot light.

I have to agree on the whole change, like I said at first I was kind of like " what a kick to the dick" but it's made a lot more sense now.

New members need to feel like they are welcome here and have a place.  Ub3rs have lost almost nothing from their original features.  They still get access to the bulk of new feature and only a select few have recently been added to r00t only to provide l33t members incentive to upgrade.

A portion of my HF income is based off upgrade groups.  r00t needs to be attractive to the majority of l33t members.  Ub3r already have it pretty good here and have for a very long time.  I could easily offer ub3r the ability to upgrade into r00t but I think that would make it less special for non-ub3r to obtain the group.  

I make these decisions for business reasons and as forward thinking for the community. I might joke around about punishing Ub3r but I'm not being serious.  I'm trolling.  r00t is a new group for new members with a new attitude.

I am fine with the difference of R00t and Ub3r as of right now, but it would feel bad if they kept getting new incentives while a large portion of members are in a dead end.
If thats not the case then nobody should have a problem.

Instead of hand picking. Why not make ub3r a child of r00t. That way you don't have to hand pick. It'll be easy to ID ub3rs, same premissions different group/time.

What if it is YOU Omniscient that means a lot to people. Maybe the people all love you, and that is why they all want to come back.
