Introduction

Welcome to the general recruitment for the Wolfpack group, within this thread you can apply for the group, you can read up what the group is about and see if you will be worthy of joining the group. This recruitment will be a little different to all the previous recruitment threads as we are starting to make the whole process a bit more strict and don't want to accept everyone anymore.

Group Infomation

The Wolfpack group is based on general discussions, This means we welcome all discussions no matter what they are based on. As long as they are not against the Hack Forums rules then we allow it. We are a group that wants to stand out loud and proud no matter if other groups are trying to beat us we want to be the best no matter what. We are a group that works as a team to make sure everyone is in a great place no matter what it takes. We are a pack, not a group and we come howling from the wild, beware.

Group Requirements

Your Hack Forums account must be six months or older.
You Must have 500 posts or more.
Your trust scan must be in decent shape.
You must be fluent in English.
You must not have any open disputes.
If you are a troll or a low-quality poster you are not welcome.
Your warning level can't be any higher than 30%

Why do you want to join the wolfpack?
Because you guys do seem all right, and I do enjoy discussing many things in detail. You have mature requirements leading me to believe the conversations should be interesting. Should I come across topics I find stimulating to my interests, I'd definitely find that would reinforce my ambition to be involved in that particular thread, which won't die as they do in the lounge.

Ain't gonna lie, I have some days where I can't get on at all, but in saying that yes I will make an attempt to. I come on daily to post to the daily thread at the absolute least. It's not much more effort to open a group forum and make least a couple posts.

Current affairs, foreign affairs, geopolotical relations, geopolotical struggles, Australian and US politics, world history, science news, scientific dilemmas/paradoxes, electrical engineering knowledge, as well as a strong and clear vision of most things I find interesting. I have a very active brain, and can discuss almost anything in detail. If it's a discussion and I have the opportunity to impart knowledge that I have, I jump at that first chance to elaborate and educate.

If you get accepted into the wolfpack, are you willing to contribute to every thread?
I'll do my best to do so, but I'm in Australia so the timezone could make it difficult to reply as it's posted. Unless I'm doing an allnighter. As I come come online daily, it's just a matter for me to get into the habit of opening the group forum and havg a flick through to see what stories my curiosity. I have no interest posting in threads I have no knowledge in, nor any ambition to shitpost to create clutter group.

But in all seriousness, I've been on HackForums for over 10 years, and spent plenty of time learning and reinforcing skills and information I have. I believe I could be an asset to the group in an indirect (but possibly direct) way.

I'm a kiwi, I'm 25, and I know many things. Too many things, jack of all trades like knowledge both with trades, and general knowledge.
I typed this all on my phone while I get ready for work so if any words or spelling are out of place, I assure you it's my gesture based autocorrect and slippery hands, not lack of English fluency.
If you want paragraphs as answers Im gonna be strugglin, but can probably expand it later it when I get some time.

I am terrible at talking about myself and what I like give me facts and questions and I'll give you answers. Very wide ranging variety of knowledge gives me a good amount of world experience, but also scientifiic and technical knowledge.

Shit, I stone face explained why surge protectors will never be built in an applisnce as it's designed to fail this creating a repair job later consumer law guarantees the customer favour in. Explained the electrical technology behind how they work, what they do, and how I'll replace it instantly of he brings it back dead. Explained consumer law stating everything I'm saying is over and above, plus looking at the local power company information sheets they recommend surge protectors for household appliances as Australian electrical mains are full of electricsl noise. So damaging. Obvs nothing compared ya surge.
Anyway this flop tried telling me I'm lying and I don't know what I'm talky about. My franchisee was on the salesfloor. Called him over and he instantly calls the customer out on the no surge protector on Australia of all places.
So what you'll plug your 8000aud TV into a shitty electrical socket in a 70 year old house with aging copper infrastructure + intense heat of Australia (effects on transmission lines over huge distances produce HUGE amounts of noise) - but he'd object to 35aud for a 1 sockrt suicide board with a lifetime warranty and I have in writing that I'll replace it on the spot if it's dead and they bring it back n receipt no questions asked. Easy to credit claim on because electrical faults are so fucking common
I used that as a blunt example without all the condescension and he actually apologised to me. Realised rather than listening to the facts, he's just distrusting of sales staff and places way too much weight other information his simpleton friends fed into him.

Life's good when you're a fucking nerd and the boss endorses you going blunt hard fact to close the case, seal the deal, make problem go bye bye.

That's why yo should have me.

Why do you want to join the wolfpack?
I'm genuinely curious what it's like to be in a group. Never been in one here. I'd like to know if things are as bad as one would logically conclude, including giving away a percentage of your sales threads and the likes and membership payment deals in order to stay in the group. If that does not apply to your group, I'll happily join and hopefully spread some common sense and logically sound statements in order to combat misinformation.

Depends. Sometimes I'm busy with programming projects because that's my job but overall I'd say I post at least once a day here on hackforums with a maximum of like 90 posts if there's something major going on. If there are no interesting threads to post in, then I see no point in keeping threads alive although I am willing to create activity/threads myself for specific purposes.

Common sense. Mythbusting and generally correcting flawed logic. Some people still believe pigeons explode for example. You'll find me scientifically breaking that kind of stuff down. I'm also down to help programmers in your group who are in need of help, so code reviews, corrections and improvements are my specialty.

Define contribute. If you mean post, well that depends on whether or not the thread is still active for one. I'd hate to be the one to open up old discussions that have been done and done. It's also a matter of what the thread is about. If I'm not knowledgeable on the field of the discussion, I'll most likely simply ask for an explanation and if I can help or correct someone's statements with sound evidence or content that generally adds to the quality of the thread, I'd be happy to do so. But like I said, I'm not gonna count all the stars in the sky.

Why do you want to join the wolfpack?
I've been to various Hack Forums groups during my stay here on HF and I see Wolfpack to be another great chance to get around with the community, create projects, develop new business adventures and chat around the sub-forum about our everyday life. I feel like the groups that focus on the general tend to be way more active and striving compared to the other groups around here. Like almost everyone, I love to be apart of a closed community where everyone knows each other. The feeling of contributing to people who you know is more fulfilling than making posts around the sub-forums of HF.

Yes obviously. I find myself to be very active when it comes to group activities, posting. contributing to the community to thread posting.

I've been to so many groups at this point that I feel like being accepted would be an honor. I've been to previous instances of Wolfpack before but I decided to leave due my studies at that time which lead to inactivity.
