HF 10 Year Anniversary Thread

This forum is just amazing. I love the memes buddy.
Another HF oldfag..
Damn it’s been a long ride here. Glad to see you still kicking about Riggs. It’s a decade for me this year too, mental.
I'm like a crushed light bulb, all out of shine.
I'm so scared of the future so I stay stuck, broken in to pieces and my spirit's all taped up.

The whole blackshade's ordeal was somewhat kinda exciting tbh.
It made me more cautious about what to trust and made me actively think about privacy and remaining more anonymous.

My 10 year anniversary is coming up in half a year and I'm also going to write down the things I learned from this place.
Good stuff OP for being on here for the past 10 years!

I really do wonder where HF will be in the next 10 years.

Damn that's messed up, just read about it. The guy was donating and shit posting on hf and the other day he oversaw the murder of a journalist that made international headlines.
Great forum HF. Sorry for the people who suicide from here.

Accurate, the contract system is so much better than the old rep system.

Im very intrigued with the tate guy?? maybe because i had two friends who commit suicide but is it real that he stream his death?

I never realized that so many people had passed away in this forum, what a shame.
Either way, it's a pleasure to be on the same forum as all of you!

I mean given the HF community size and the length of time that's passed, I'd say it's not really that many actually.

(Jun 22, 2020 06:04 AM)Deities Wrote:  It's crazy. I remember most of the events you posted about, but not all of them (RIP to all those who have passed). But the true double take was when you listed all the people in your mentions. I know and remember almost all of them from when I was active. It's amazing to be apart of a site for over a decade and having a great place and community to come back to.

Yeah it's a lot to cover in a single thread so I just picked some of the memories that stood out. I'm sure there's many more I've missed or can't remember.

Blackshades memory is a good throwback I remember for sure though.

Good to see you've stuck around too.

I am so happy that the past 10 years here made you progress and that you managed to take what you learned and make it into a full time career,
i'm obligated to say that i'm very happy to see a appreciative person and one who managed to take his free time and make it worth while.
I am envy in your process and just want to wish you good luck in your further endeavors :)

Thanks dude. Genuinely wish you all the best also.

Good to see you still around. Name doesn't stand to memory though. Did they do anything notable or memorable?

Some personal insight here, but I tend to remember events/actions more than names, especially when it comes to remembering past events or even quotes. The reason for this is I feel like events/actions are where most lessons in life are learned from, so I often disregard remembering the identities of people involved as secondary. Downside is it makes it a bit difficult to remember names though.

I can’t say I’ve been here ten years (been about 6 years) however I truly wish I had discovered HF sooner the community is really unlike anywhere else. There’s never a dull moment here on Hack Forums. The sites taught me quite a bit and pointed me in all the right directions, I look forward to the future of HF as well!

Glad to see you're happy here. Hope you stick around.

I just crossed 6 years, doesn't feel like it...

Admittedly I haven't been active the whole time due to sporadic work commitments, but you're right it's still a long time. 6 years is also a long time so good to see you're still around too.

I've learned a lot, and HF helped shape me as well. I was also thinking it would be cool to allow at least some of the folks with closed accounts back in. I've met some pretty cool people here.

I agree, though not sure it's something Omniscient would ever consider. Also not sure if he's retained the backend capacity to ever potentially restore those accounts anyway. If I remember correctly (and I could be wrong), many were deleted forever and/or closure was 'irreversible'.

(Jun 22, 2020 12:55 PM)xadamxk Wrote:  I remember most of these and man have there been some dramatic stories from the past 😂

I somewhat regret that many of the memories I've listed are negative in nature (probably why they're easier to remember), but I also think it's important to reflect and see how far HF has come since and what we can learn from the past. Many were also unique experiences that we shared together, which makes them part of our own collective legacy, and therefore memories of value regardless of if they were good or bad.

You're a newer gen oldfag, but I'm pretty sure everyone on HF knows who you are already. You've contributed more than many of the real oldfags combined.

I look forward to reading your anniversary thread someday. No more tattoos though please.

Ahh man, I was just casually reading this thread and I got to the blackshadow random but there's a pattern part and audibly laughed. That shit was great.

I don't remember the small details but it was basically "the first 'real' girl on HF", "she" was extra nice to everyone and very known around the forums. There was a huge discussion/debate about how real her sexuality is, HF was divided into 2 groups. I just remember her becoming a big meme, so big that users started changing their names to eve #2 and #3 (including me.) I remember her uploading a faceless selfie while holding a paper with her HF username on it, too.

If you wanted to do a relaunch on Kickstarter by the way, i'll help you do it properly.
Congratulation on getting 10 years achievement. This is no doubt one of the best forum on the internet. The father of all forums!
