Ursula von der Leyen (President of the European Commission) announced on Twitter a few hours ago that they're going to propose a "Digital Green Pass", basically a vaccination passport.

What are your thoughts on this? Ursula claims: "It will respect data protection, security & privacy", but I am highly sceptical of any IT project led by any government.

Are you for or against such a vaccination passport?

Yep, I'm quite concerned about privacy. I wonder how this proposal will work out; we'll see it soon enough when more details are released.

It doesn't really make sense since the vaccine isn't 100% so doesn't offer 100% safety. Also, if you had the coronavirus you're technically immune so why wouldn't that count but a vaccine would? All seems unnecessary.

Correct, the vaccines don't offer 100%; the currently available vaccines offer more like ~66% to ~90% if I recall correctly. The immune thing isn't guaranteed either; that varies a lot too.

Unnecessary, privacy invading, and most likely insecure.

vaccines doesnt make you immune to said disease/virus but makes it harder for you to get it, its not guaranteed once you take the vaccine you will have immunity over it.

Welcome to the New World Order. We went from the scare of Terrorism to the scare of Viruses. We have lost our privacy in the name of health and security. It's a lie and a shame that this is what it has come to.

If this continues I may never travel again. I refuse to get the vaccine and I am not going to take any test for travel purposes. They can go fugg themselves.

That’s too far, I received the vaccine since I have bad asthma and other health issues but the whole thing is being dragged out. Everyday I see something on a new variant of COVID and how vaccines might not be as effective...it’s like ok fuck it just let us live our lives then if it’s going to be one thing after another. Humanity has survived far worse during times where medicine wasn’t exactly science.

What could you possibly have to worry about? It is not like they will create a giant database of all resident's medical records, share them between countries, track your travel history, and use that information to tell you to be on what is effectively house arrest when the government decides what your health status is right? Right? Yeah... lol.
