I've been learning Illustrator for the past week. Bought Illustrator masterclass course on Udemy (warez disallowed) and also watched tons of Illustrator tutorials on Youtube.
Today was the day when I finally had a proper exercise in the course.
I was given this sketch:
and had to basically put everything I've learned so far to action.
This was the outcome:
I know it's not perfect, especially the colors/shadows, but I'm very, very happy with my process and how just a week ago I didn't know how to even merge shapes together in Illustrator (I basically worked in Photoshop which is not as good).
Let me know what you think!
This looks amazing for your first illustration my man. The way he's standing feels "natural", I guess that's because of the sketch with the 3D cylinders. Looking forward to seeing more of these before and after posts 💯

Thank you 😁
I will actually work a lot on my illustrations/sketches after I finish the course. I might also share some of them here later on as well! Illustrator is SUPER FUN once you understand some of its tools.

Keep them coming, I have a small Wacom tablet laying around for favicons/logos but haven't done anything like this.

Well, I was looking at tons of Youtube videos on illustrations in Adobe Illustrator before doing this so I already had a general idea on how to do it
Keep it up brother. We proud of you.

Really good for your first time. But I think the shadows looks kinda odd because their not following the lightsource.
Very minimalistic and it's not too messy. I like it tbh.
