Group owners have sold there upgraded groups for 2k either because they were desperate for the funds or because they were done with the forum, or because they purchased it with more then one person and the other person wanted out.

Groups aren't $2k though, that's why Zeus and others were selling at around $5k.

The people saying "oh groups are worth $2k - $3k" are talking about the groups without any group upgrades or extra forum perks.

Example of group upgrades:
*you bought Olympians, which comes with:

- 2 extra group sub forums
- 8 custom gif post stars (custom gif stars cost more than custom static stars)
- Custom username color
- Custom bolded username on posts
- Custom bolded forum font (your name shows up bold anywhere on the forum (sections, convo, etc..) unlike other groups with only bold usernames on posts)

That's why you paid more for a group like Olympians compared to a group like PROFIT which has no group upgrades or extra forum perks at all (just the plain white username and regular official group post stars, basically how groups were back in the day (seeing you're a 2012 member I'd imagine you'd remember).

- The groups Pink LSZ and COINED can both give +10/-10 popularity ratings

Nah trust me that's how people here valuate official group prices. It costs thousands to upgrade it to the point where Olympians is for you. Only way of getting around that is buying an already existing group with said upgrades/perks.

I'm a 27 year old web and mobile app developer. In the past fifteen years I've gone from playing in a few somewhat successful bands, to working as an audio technician, then a loudspeaker engineer, then a computer repair technician, and now as a web developer. I also work with/own a portion of a startup where I'm a mobile app developer.

What are you passionate about?
Learning is my primary goal in life. I like to learn and apply my skills. I'm also passionate about teaching. I find that once I understand something, I have an ability to explain it well to anyone. Nothing is as complicated as it looks.

What are you good at?
I'm good at solving problems. I'm good at reading people. I'm good at positioning information in a way that appeals to others. I'm good at writing, and I'm good at developing new ideas.

What are some hobbies of yours?:

• Music is a big one. Right now I make electronic music in a solo project, but I've been a bass player in a number of bands. I also go to a lot of shows and festivals.
  
• I make digital art. No drawing for the most part, but a lot of abstract collages.
  
• Rock climbing has been my work out lately.
  
• 3d printing is a new creative hobby for me.
  
• I play League of Legends, but try to keep it within a reasonable timeframe (unless I'm with friends. I consider time spent with friends as time well spent, no matter the activity)
  

Ultimately I subscribe to the idea that you should have three hobbies: one that makes you money, one that keeps you creative and one that keeps you fit. I do my best to balance this ideal with my passion for learning new things.

I have a deep understanding of computer hardware and can troubleshoot most issues remotely. Finding answers is a specialty of mine, even if the question is out of my area of expertise. I'm always happy to use my hobbies and other skills to help friends and colleagues.

Not particularly. I don't shy away from jokes, which can sometimes upset people, but I'm always quick to apologize if I upset anyone. I do my best to be good to the people around me. Being an asshole forfeits your right to be treated kindly, but sometimes assholes are the people who really need kindness. Break the cycle.

Ultimately I believe that self improvement is a high ideal that everyone should strive for. Part of self improvement is about enjoying life and making connections. If these are the values Olympians agrees with and wants to foster, then I feel I'd fit well.
