High Quality Posts and Low Quality Posts.

What is a high-quality post? How does one make a high-quality post? What is the boundary between high-quality and low-quality?

After looking around the forum, I think the difference is that high-quality posts are longer posts with easily readable information.

Low-quality posts are short posts with information unimportant to the subject or long posts with no useful information.

Is this post a LQ post, or a HQ post?

If I had to take my best guess, I would deem this thread one of the higher-quality threads.

I hope I was able to answer your question on this HQ Wednesday!

Thank you! I agree with you on what you said. Post Quality is very hard to describe.

We should create sort of a algorithm which accepts posts, and decides based on post attributes.

im a high quality post. yes
Here’s my take on a high quality vs low quality post.

Heuristics of a high quality post: Relates to the subject posted
Can grasp user engagement Relevant to modern information
Offers assistance Offers more information (such as a relevant question)

Heuristics of a low quality post:
Has no substance Does not relate to the subject posted
Mingle-mangle of different words that makes no sense

I would consider this post to be a high-quality post because it provides a clear explanation of the differences between high-quality and low-quality posts. Keep up the good work!

AI Quote: According to our future replacement at chatgpt:

A high-quality forum post is clear, engaging, and valuable to the community. Here are the key elements that define a top-tier post:
1. Clarity & Structure

Concise Title: A descriptive, specific title that summarizes the post's content.
Logical Flow: Organized thoughts with proper paragraphs, headings (if allowed), and bullet points.
Proper Formatting: Use bold, italics, or code blocks where needed for readability.

2. Value & Relevance

Useful Information: Adds something meaningful to the discussion—insights, solutions, or well-thought-out opinions.
Well-Researched: Provides references, sources, or links where necessary.
Relevance to the Community: Aligns with the forum’s topic and interests.

3. Engagement & Tone

Conversational but Respectful: Avoids being overly formal but remains polite and professional.
Encourages Discussion: Ends with a question or invites others to share their perspectives.
Positive & Constructive: Avoids negativity, trolling, or inflammatory language.

4. Accuracy & Originality

Fact-Checked Content: Avoids spreading misinformation.
Unique Perspective: Adds personal experience or insight rather than just repeating common knowledge.
Minimal Jargon: Tailors language to the audience to ensure accessibility.

5. Proper Grammar & Spelling

Typos and grammatical mistakes reduce credibility. Proofreading before posting is key.

All of these threads are HQ and Im willing to get in a bareknuckle fight over it.

High-quality is a hard thing to describe.
High quality posting could be simply chalked up into 2 things.

Staying on topic in a thread.
Posting more than a few words.

Where is the HQ business successfully conducted thread?
HQ posts help or inform users, invite others to share their thoughts, are in the correct section, are relevant, and are not spat out by AI.

An AI post could have higher quality information, but in a community I wouldn’t call it HQ for your question.

Sometimes length is great, but having clear section titles is important. Having an accordion bbcode would be cool, but spoilers work.
I consider this a low quality thread
