Why is Hackforum now 18+

Just a question why did hackforums randomly prompt he will a message when visiting this site if I was 18+? is this a new thing?
mainly for legal and safety reasons
I imagine it has somewhat to do with the recent UK OSA. It's effected a ton of different websites and platforms in the last 6 months especially.
bugga told me I'm a cutie

Or maybe because there are e-whore content packs here and you know, some have explicit content.
Could be a new policy update. If the forum has sections related to exploits, marketplaces or anything considered “adult” in terms of content/legal risk, they might be required to add an 18+ confirmation. I don’t think it’s anything personal or random.

Simply, because children shouldn't be here, some deal here and information are dangerous in the wrong hands and children are notoriously irresponsible, they also have a tendency to not understand the laws they may or may not be breaking. It's a liability thing honestly.

I actually agree with you on that as I know kids are more likely to get caught doing illegal stuff as most of them don't cover up there tracks and don't have good OPSEC and can easily be identified.

I agree. I also think it's not necessary for things to be explicitly NSFW to be warrant a 18+ filter.
Its good for legal reasons, and ethical.
So I think this would be a good place for me to chime in! I first learned about hacking when I was a 12 year old playing Star Wars games on the MSN gaming zone. I was pretending to be 16 because that's what the most common age was among the people I met on there. I started using random hacking tools designed for kids I guess to attack the gaming server like lobby chat flooders and chat bots and .NET passport unbanners which was the system back then their moderators called "member+" would boot gag and ban us. Banning the passport your account was associated but there were unbanner tools available. Just bunch of stuff designed to disrupt day to day operations of the MSN Gaming Zone. But that led to me as a 12 year old learning how to rip webpages and set up fake login pages to phish for login information which back then we just wanted to try to steal Member + logins so we could boot people and stuff at least that was my intention but I did quite a bit of stuff I shouldn't have done and could have potentially gotten myself into serious trouble. Luckily I never got into any trouble with computers and now a days I am to much of a scaredy cat to do anything like that. Anyways I believe having the 18+ rule may prevent anyone from getting in trouble if there's a little kid on here or something like the little kid I once was! Just my opinion.

Because nobody ever lies about their age on the internet and this keeps us all safe according to EU and maybe California. Don't forget your hall pass if you would like to conduct a search!
