Well that was unpleasant. I just spent over 3 hours recovering our DB. I'm unsure exactly what happened but it appears that our DB server crashed and the InnoDB tables became corrupt. I spent time attempting to recover them but I was unsuccessful. It's slightly tricky to recover the data and ultimately I decided it was best to grab the morning backup and get us online.
So what does that mean to users? Well for starters all PMs, Posts, and Users that were created since 4am are gone. If you had a marketplace sticky or some other important thread you'll need to recreate it.
For those with paid stickies today. Please PM me again your transaction ID and the thread. I'll take care of it immediately.
For those who made donations same thing. PM me again your transaction ID and I'll take care of it asap.
It's unfortunate but these things happen. I've made changes to how the DB operates hoping to have better performance. I'm praying we don't have hard drive failure coming. That might be disaster. I'm going to pay for NAS backup this week to ensure we have backups twice a day off server. It's excessive but I think we need it.
Most of the delays getting us back online was simple mysql commands to import the DB. Each attempt was about 30 minutes and the conversion I did took forever on a few tables. I sat here itching to get us back online. Most of my time I spent researching ways to increase performance and integrity.
I know it sucks to do a reversion. It sucks for all of us. But nothing I can do at this point. Sorry.
