  Markdown Compatibility
Posted by: Omniscient - May 17, 2025 04:23 PM - Forum: Site News - Replies (16)

I am currently working on adding Markdown compatibility. Please note that it's not perfect because there are some conflicts with MyCode. When there is I am choosing to remove the MD option in favor of the default MyBB behavior. Example is urls because Markdown parses them automatically as well.

Consider Markdown compatibility in Beta. If you find any odd behavior please notify me for review.

# 🧪 Markdown Plugin Test

Welcome to the Markdown to MyCode conversion test.
Here's a demonstration of supported syntax.

## 🔤 Formatting

Bold, *Italic*, Strikethrough

Inline `code` sample.

```php
// Code block
echo "Hello, world!";
Code
# 🧪 Markdown Plugin Test
Welcome to the **Markdown to MyCode** conversion test.
Here's a demonstration of supported syntax.
## 🔤 Formatting
**Bold**, *Italic*, ~~Strikethrough~~
Inline `code` sample.
```php
// Code block
echo "Hello, world!";

This should also work inside AIQ Mycode because by default a lot of AI quotes are already in Markdown format. This should make them much prettier.

Here is good example of what it does with AIQ.

  Profiles
Posted by: Omniscient - May 17, 2025 02:34 PM - Forum: Site News - Replies (27)

What do you think is missing from member profiles? Been suggested that if there was more options to customize that HF itself would gain popularity and members. Profiles were altered years ago from default MyBB to an "Advanced Profile" plugin we created which allows for comments, MyCode, social connections, and more. You can also upload a custom banner.

You can view my profile for an example. I have custom banner, a Soundcloud song, a Youtube video, my social links and some Bio text about me.

In profiles you can leave comments only if you're on that members Buddy List to prevent abuse.

What's missing? I feel like any more customizing options we'd look like MySpace 1992.

But let me get more feedback on this because maybe someone will either make sense or provide me a solid enough idea or maybe just an inspiration for an idea.

  Google Trends & SEO

So that image is Google Trends 2004-Present on the term "hack".

You can obviously see the massive decline. HF started 2007 and many will say we peaked 2012-2015. You may notice that era on Trends is also peaking.

This is a simple reminder that the world can change around you and you cannot do anything about it. I can't make people search hacking, join HF, and be active. They have to want it. You have to want it.

I do what I can to incentivize activity but that can only go so far.
