IMGBB and Image Uploading

I have disabled the IMGBB plugin which allowed for upload. It's slow, unreliable, and I don't like that it inserts thumbnails. I sent a complaint to the site about it all. I even offered to buy their site just in case the issue is simply better servers.
I'm still looking to solve the sites image upload issue. I want something much closer to how Convo works with drag and drop right into the post. Sort of like how imgbb worked but potentially smoother, more reliable, and full size images.
A couple possible solutions is using a CDN like Bunny.net or I just let the images get uploaded directly onto HF servers (not desirable). I've run CDN's for HF before and Bunny is cheap and simple API. I spent an entire day trying to get Cloudflare and Firebase working but ran into a plethora of problems mostly got stuck on CORS issues because I wanted to use an HF subdomain. Just couldn't get it to work past our own high security levels and browser requirements. Totally sucked. That's why I'm looking at Bunny.net, simple API direct uploading to them, I don't need a bunch of fancy security options just to do image uploading to a bucket.
Anyways, working on it and for now the plugin is disabled in case you notice it's missing.
Thanks.

Hack Forums Lurking Policy & Security Measures
🔎 Overview
Hack Forums actively monitors browsing behavior to protect the community from bots, scrapers, and abusive traffic. While guests are welcome to browse the forum, excessive or abnormal activity may trigger automated protections.
👤 Guest Access
Guests (non-logged-in users) can:
- View threads and public sections
- Browse discussions at a normal pace
However, guest access is intentionally limited compared to registered members to maintain site performance and security.
🤖 Lurking Detection
Our system automatically detects patterns commonly associated with bots and malicious crawlers, including:
- Rapid browsing across multiple threads
- High-frequency page requests in short periods of time
- Behavior inconsistent with normal human browsing
If these patterns are detected, the system may temporarily restrict access.
🚫 What Happens If You're Flagged
If your activity is flagged:
- You may receive a permission error when trying to view threads
- Your access may be temporarily limited
- In some cases, your IP and account may be banned for further review
These measures are automated and designed to protect the community, our content, and our platform.
💰 Paid Crawler Access
We understand that some users and services may require higher-volume access for indexing, research, or automation.
Approved crawler access may be available for a fee and is subject to strict guidelines and limits.
If you are interested in obtaining authorized access, please contact administration:
PM Omniscient For Paid Crawler Access
Unauthorized scraping or crawling will continue to be blocked and may result in further restrictions.
✅ How to Avoid Restrictions
To ensure uninterrupted access:
- Browse at a normal, human pace
- Avoid using scripts, bots, or aggressive crawlers
- Consider registering an account for full access and fewer limitations
- Upgrade
- Post beyond our checks (unpublished for security)
🛡️ Why This Exists
Hack Forums is a high-traffic platform and a frequent target for scraping, spam, and automated abuse. These protections help:
- Maintain site performance
- Protect user-generated content
- Ensure fair access for legitimate users
📌 Final Notes
These systems are constantly evolving. If you encounter restrictions and believe it was in error, simply slow down your browsing or register an account.
Thank you for helping keep Hack Forums fast, secure, and accessible.

Custom Group Max Members

Officially there is no cap on how many members are allowed in a Custom Usergroup. However, I have chastised owners in the past that did inflate their numbers by just inviting everyone and have 500 members. I dealt with that pretty quick. Currently Pink LSZ seems to be most members with 115 and 2nd place is Fallen with 98.
I want to propose I make it an official policy that a Custom Usergroup can have max 100 members. The reason being is that with the Group Prestige competition I don't want inflated member numbers to basically sway and win each month.
I may eventually also limit the amount of groups a member can join but I'll wait to see how current policy changes play out first. Just putting something out there that's been brought up and considering as well.
Anyways, need feedback on the max 100 members in a custom usergroup. Do you think that's reasonable?

AI Moderation Concept

This is a simple offshoot of the Popularity discussion. Whether to add back custom comments which the biggest hurdle would be moderation. We can make rules and policies but then someone has to enforce them, they are always open to some interpretation. Like if I said as a rule, "no personal insults" and then someone said something borderline in a comment, butthurt member gets a negative and reports the comment.
Anyways, I think you get the idea. Well it came to me that I might be able to train AI to moderate the Popularity comments. I would give it examples of what's allowed, what's not, train it for the policies. Then when a member hits "REPORT" on the Popularity, it will send the comment to AI which will judge if it's within the policy and then take appropriate action. Within policy the Reporter gets a PM from Stanley with an AI response on why it's not a policy violation. If it is a policy violation then the Giver of the Popularity gets a PM from Stanley with a Warning and also an AI response why it violated policy.
Personally I think this would be amazing, fairly sure I can implement with some adjustments. Thus making custom comments probably more doable on HF again.
And if this goes well then potentially I can do this for all HF moderation.
What do you guys think?
