Photoshop etc. Heya :) Adobe offer a free trial for all their products, as well as discounts for students - that's the legal route (and, naturally, the one I'd recommend since I'm morally astute). You can also get similar (but worse) alternatives to popular Adobe programs for free: GIMP for Photoshop, and Inkscape for Illustrator, for example. However, it is of course possible to get hold of Adobe's programs illegally. NoCTRL has a popular guide on how to do so here, and whilst I've not used it myself it seems to have lots of vouches. Meanwhile, Lightning Revenant will upgrade a trial edition of Adobe's software to the full version for free here. Again, I've not used either of these services, but it's perfectly possible to obtain the software you need. You don't actually need to use vectors or Illustrator for that matter. There are plenty of websites that offer free icons such as flaticon that allow you to download as .psd .eps .png Would recommend starting off easily into Photoshop with a simple grid structure 1200 width and 960 as your content area. Use relatively small icons to let the whole design breathe. When you are about to start off a new project, let us know or post your progress into RMG. ![]()

Yes, I know I'm not a part of this help desk, but is there any wrong in helping out? Thread Designs: People typically use Photoshop for them. It's just the convient way to go without losing any type of quality or anything. Logos: I usually tend to make my logos in Illustrator, and when needing to advertise the logo or something I switch over to Photoshop. Signatures: Non-Gif signatures are usually made in Photoshop, while Gif signatures are made in After Effects. Hope that helped in one way or another. |
