Anyone else feel like holidays dont hit the same anymore?

Every year it feels like the holidays come faster and mean less. Used to be something I actually looked forward to — people slowing down, lights going up, everyone pretending to be in a good mood for a few weeks. Now it’s just another checklist: Black Friday emails, “limited drops,” and the same people complaining they’re broke two weeks later.

Maybe it’s just getting older, or maybe we collectively burned out on pretending to care.

Do you guys still get into the holiday spirit, or has it all turned into background noise for you too?
We've gotten older. We don't get those Christmas breaks from school anymore. Although technology is advancing with AI, there aren't these huge console releases anymore. Everything has become so saturated.

Having kids does make it more enjoyable.

I think holidays hit better when we were younger because we'd be off from school and it was always such a big deal especially when we would celebrate it in school.

We no longer have the fun we had when we were young.😭😭😭
for me : its when May arrives , the year starts getting faster sadly , we should add life to our years not years to our life , we should have more time to make memories .... this thread hits different sadly ..
Yes I don't really care for them

There comes a point where everything stops having those magical vibes. A lot of the magic happened due to our parents when we were younger. Now that we are older, it just stops. Nothing like having kids to help bring back some of the great holiday feelings, just from a different perspective.

The older we get the more we feel everything gets worse. Sadly thats just life, nothing really changes bar the presants where you start getting socks 🤣

I get that.
I miss the energy and surprise that came with them as a kid.

Rep me for rep back and quick love for a qucik love back
Hmm it all depends on the state of mind. Can't say I haven't waited for the holidays to pass one year, and the next it was my favorite time.
I get what you mean. The older I get, the more it feels like the holidays have shifted from a feeling to a formula. I still enjoy the small moments though. Quiet evenings, lights, a bit of nostalgia. But yeah, the commercial side drowns out the meaning pretty fast.
