I was in the 2nd grade and built a computer out of throw away PCs I found. Was too poor growing up to afford to buy one at the time. What about you guys?
How old were you when you knew computers and tech were your life? |

Computers and video games intrigued me since I was able to play (4 - 5 years old). I got more into computers around 12ish and started tinkering around 17. I wish I took it more seriously in my teenage years, but here we are.

I found IRC and troll forums. Encyclopedia Dramatica, and other sites. I used to spend hours on those, and from there I learnt the basics, very basics in doing shit like ddos attacks, and writing smaller scripts and learnt my way from there. Nowdays I don't do anything like that, I still use irc and I have some stuff I do where I generally help out but it's via ftp server catalogue sorting. Started at 6 playing online flash games, then to conspiracy theories at 11 that led me to understand how valuable it is to have good tech-awareness and literacy. |
