Policy Question

New "special deal" thread question

Would it be okay to post a thread in the Marketplace Discussions forum perhaps with a special deal for a product of mine?

For example, for 24 hours I will give 50% off all plans on a stresser if you PM me and pay with PayPal, and announce this in a separate thread? The point it so that it gets more attention and so on than it would if this was added to the sales thread alone. It's would also be a limited time offer... What is the policy regarding this?
i think it would be ok as long as the 'sale' wasnt directly after the post of the original thread. and if the sale wasnt like "for the next 180 days" thus creating 2 threads.

I'm confused about what you mean. I plan to just make a special deal thread for like 24 hours, that people can take advantage of (and actually notice)...

i know what you mean, but im saying as long as it has a set time period and isnt posted directly after the time you posted your actual sales thread ( so you wouldnt be posting 2 threads at once to get more attention ) i think you would be fine.
Couldn't you just make a sale, say "SALE FOR 24 HOURS" or somethin and say "WILL UPDATE THREAD AFTER 24 HOURS" and after the 24 hours edit the post and shit. It'd be fine since you acknowledge there would be a change after the 24 hour time period.
Would probably be counted as duplicate threads/cross posting. Just edit your original sales thread and then change it back after the 24 hour sale is up, to be sure.
Also, pretty sure Subliminal is saying don't cross post, (Make two threads about the same thing) and you'll be fine.
The sales thread has been posted for a while now... I simply want to do a special deal for some time if you PM me and make a manual PayPal payment (with discount on plan of course).
>Make a thread
>say it's a sale for 24hours
>sell shit
>Lock after 24hours?

Just edit and original thread. Once edited if you can't post again (if you are last poster), PM me, I'll just give it a bunnp for you. Not worth getting into trouble/getting warnings for the sake of a 24hr sale.
They wouldn't be the same thing. One is a normal sales thread, and the other is a limited time offer.

I'd rather get this question answered by a Mentor/Staff/Admin member first...

Well, that'd be cross posting I think, just make one thread, and edit it after the 24 hours.

Quote:4. Don't cross post. That's when you repeat a post in multiple threads or categories.

The sales thread already exists, and it wouldn't get much attention to be honest...
Edit your existing thread to reflect the promo.
No you can't. Clearly you cannot.

1. Do not use this section for buying, selling, or promoting your existing marketplace thread.
